Indexed is when Google finds you. When Google think you are serious and like the quality of your posts they will rank them. The higher they rank them, the more chance you have of been seen by people searching for information.

Indexing is the first stage of Google recognition. When you first start a site Google has no idea it is there and neither does any other search engine. So they send out little bots to search the web for new content. That is what all search engines do. So that part is automatic. The actual finding of the website is called indexing

When it is ranked it is found on page 100,000 and then page 100. Eventually, you hope to get it ranked on the first five pages and then page 1
