Did you ever get your money? and was it in with one of these big group bans that is talked about?
Dang! Now what next? I am glad that I never got into AdSense. Not that I am at the level that some of those were, but still, I wonder what can really be done now? These are kinda comments so don't think of an answer. lol
Interesting read. I've had an adwords account banned back in 2009, but now an adsense account. Then again I'm nowhere near the levels that the article says they start banning people at. Also, I only use it for overlay ads on youtube, I don't use it on my websites.
Thank you Don for the heads up on this! I've always been a little leary of Adsense and glad I followed my instincts! I'm sure we all appreciate you sharing this!

I does not yet affect me - I have not yet used adsense. But if this is so flawed - what should we use?

Wow, if there is any validity about this...scary! I have had my toe in the water about Adsense, but after reading this, I have even more concerns. Wonder if Kyle and/or Carson know anything about this??

ttkallstar, why can't i do a direct reply to your question? What's so special about your cream reply? To answer your question, why wouldn't someone go to the trouble? Google must have many people with grudges because they've had their accounts banned. Then there are competitors. The list is endless. Again, what I read sounded like fiction with no hard facts.
Idk why you can't reply and I don't want to argue, I was just wondering why you said that because it does seem like something they would have the power to do. It would be hard to bring facts against google in a situation like that. If I were mad at google I could see myself writing something, but nowhere to that extreme. Just seems like a lot of effort for a grudge, but you could be right.
Comment nesting is only 1 deep so you always have to reply to the original comment, ie the the guy with the reply button.
So I have to reply to myself. Seems odd.
It's all in the telling. The way it's written feels like it's come from the imagination, rather than real life. I'm not saying whoever wrote it didn't work for Google and I haven't read it all but it just seems too 'powers that be', feeding into the perception people have of Google. And anyway, if they ban people who are making money but not involved in click fraud, I think they'd be out of business pretty quickly.

Thanks for the link Tkallstar. The extracts on the page sound more convincing but rumour can be just as damaging in the short term and if nobody comes through with proof people soon forget. There was a rumour that Facebook was sending bots out across their network to click on adds. PR can run both ways and negative campaigns to damage the opposition are run by companies all the time. Be interesting to see if this guy comes forward or is found with concrete boots on the ocean floor. Google are a law on to themselves and give no reason for banning and no appeal, that I know of. At the very least this might force them to build in a better system that leads to more transparency for the publishers.
