Amazon Link Engine Plugin
I have just recently installed the Amazon Link Engine Plugin and wanted to share with you this plugin that will help you not lose a sale as an Amazon Associate.
As many of you know, Amazon is country specific, meaning if you live in the UK, your associate id will good only for that country. This means that your links are only for the UK so you will lose international customers.
My Amazon affiliate is in the US and I may have lost sales in UK or Canada for not having this plugin. I have joined Amazon CA and UK affiliate to increase my sales and not to lose any potential customers.
The Amazon Link Engine plugin will globalize your link so that you don't miss out on any commissions. Once the visitor hits your amazon affiliate link on your website the plugin will kick in and direct it to the correct amazon specific country.
Once you install the plugin you have to create an account with geni.us. who used to be Georiot (https://www.geni.us/join) and from there you put in all the amazon associate affiliate id. Hint: join Amazon affiliate in countries that you get most sales. Geni.us Link is free up to 1000 affiliate clicks each month. After that you pay.
If you like to learn more how how the process work here's a link:https://www.geni.us/how-it-works
I hope this helps you and please feel free to like this post.
Have a good day,
Dinh

That's very interesting. I didn't know that. I sure don't wish to loose international sales. I thought it was an international plugin. Thanks for the info.
Keith
amazon is country specific so make sure you join the affiliate programs for each of the country where you get the most traffic so you can get the commissions.
I have been wondering why i can not make sales from Amazon for quite sometime despite having clicks.Thank you for this blog.I just have to install the plugin,i did not know Amazon is country specific.
Thanks :) I have looking up for this. When you installing the plugin, did it convert previous affiliate link you've already placed before installing the plugin?
I installed the plugin and created the account with geni. us so I can see where my clicks are coming from. all of my links are from amazon.com (us) so I didn't have to convert anything. Just make sure you put in all the amazon affiliate links on the genius account.
I just read more about this and they claim to convert links that you have before installing the plugin.

I tried it a few days ago and it did not work.
I was just about to try it, but wanted to see if any others have tried this. How do you know it didn't work Jovo?
I asked somebody to try my links and to see if they redirect to specific country. No one did. I am going to try again these days because this is important, but I shall try some other options as well.
You should notice here (reading between lines) that with this plugin all your traffic will go trough some company on the Internet. I disliked the idea from the beginning but I still tried it.
yeah you do have to go through the company geni. us to have an account so you can see where your traffic is coming from and what link.
after you put in the plugin if you go to settings and click amazon link engine, make sure you put the api keys and then you should have 3 check marks. also make sure that you have the affiliate code in the affiliate box on your account.
Yes, I also don't like going through another company. I have heard that some of these companies end up taking the commissions you should have earned.
I wish amazon would just have centralized links for all countries they operate in.
When I go to amazon to buy something and I go to .com, there is always a pop up saying I can go to .ca since they can see I am in Canada.
Now why can't that happen with our affiliate links? If my link is .com and someone from the UK clicks on it, it should redirect them to amazon UK and we should still get the credit for the sale.
In a perfect world that is how it would work!
I don't know how they could take commissions from amazon. Amazon pays us directly. 4% for the first 6 items and 6% more than that.
geni. us makes money from subscription to their service. if you get more than 1000 click on your links then they start charging. It's only free up to 1000 clicks. They just redirect the links to match the customer's country.
Yeah I agree with you that life would be much easier if Amazon consolidated their links.
Hey Jovo,
Is it still not working?
I tried your links a few days ago, remember?
Told you they were not working right.
Wanted to ask you again about it because I don't understand how it isn't working.
Good luck with it ! Don't hesitate to ask again if you need to check ;)
Hi Dinh, I did all those steps, API was verified, and I have affiliate approved with those Amazon branches. But it did not work.
Amazon pays you and you get info which has first passed/filtered through another company on the Internet. I do not like the idea.
Of course I remember Angelique. I removed it because you did not notice any redirection. Plan to try again.
Are you sure that your works?
did you get the 3 check marks on the settings page? also if it's done properly and working you should be able to check on your home page on geni. us to see which country the person is clicking from.
Exactly Jovo! I keep reading articles that we should be very careful when using third party sites and apps.
Most of the links seem to work fine. I still have to check for some others. Let me know when you try try it gain
