Actually fats can be very useful whether you are a Athlete or not. It can act as the fule source when your body runs out of the energy. This also can be related with the fasting idea, for loose weight. where you starve your body to use those fats, by forcing your body to break down those fat molecules( hiding inside those fat cells) into fatty acid . So that it can be converted into energy.

Therefore, you can last as long by burning fats. But it's not that easy and your body has to adapt accordingly which will take time. However it is achieavable if you work on it.

But how it works : when our body runs out of fule/energy. Ketone replace most of bodies requirement for glucose. Thus, ketones act as alternative fule source. (ketones is a chemical produced by our liver using fats, for providing energy when body runs out of glucose /fuel.)

Things to remember : Some research has shown that, consuming too much of Carbs can interfare with producing ketones. Actually, there is no exactly good /bad food, but Whatever food you eat; just be mindful about not consuming too much of a particular nutritient only . If you are able to do it, leave your body to do the rest of work. Our body is an amazing machine.

And don't forget to include some healthy fats in your diet.

When I get stressed, carbs are my friend. I know it's not good and I'm working on it.

Actually they are food but if you don't stay active though our the day and if your body can't metabolise them(cause every ones body is not same) then it may be a problem😊.

And stay away from junk and processed carbs especially. Like chips, biscuits, kurkure etc...and thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts.

I hear you and I know you're right. When I'm stressed, I don't think about what's good/bad though. I want something fast and yes, often it's chip and JUNK. I'm a work in progress though. 🤣😂

Yaaa definitely. I hope you still work out a lot and stay active mostly as you are also from military background! But still choose carbs from healthy source of food😊🤝
