My Night With A Top Email Marketer

Last Night I had the pleasure of attending a webinar hosted by a renowned Email Marketer. His mails had been landing in my inbox for a while. Even though I didn't know he was the writer, they had caught my attention.

Last night I understood why.

Catch Their Attention

His expertise: Catching your attention in the first line.

Even the email address that it had been sent from was orchestrated to catch the attention. (Attached are names such as, "Your Inbox", for the health niche, "Your Abs".

Here is what I took away from his training, (for once there was no selling at this webinar).

That first line in the email is the most important. Stop leaving your best stuff for later.

I went back to my email and grabbed a few of his. Here is one that stood out, "Whoops! Can't believe I did that."

Yes, I had opened it without even knowing him.

Convert With Your Stories

Be less boring! Tell your most embarrassing stories and you will connect with your audience.

Contract out the "busy work." The kind that keeps you busy, pays the bills but really doesn't benefit you later.

-Something none email-related: Spend 80% of your time on things that will pay you later (building a passive income).

Work smart not hard: If you hire a hard-working person they will work to complete the job well. Hire a lazy person, he will revolutionize the system to free up his time.

The Shocking Part

Send more Emails. The more you email the more you make.

I bet you thought, Only send one per week so they don't get fed up.

I will never look at emails the same way ever again.

This blog is meant to share information but it is also the nature of an experiment birthed from my night with Mr. S.

Please respond to the following:

If you came to read this email because of that title respond. "Good start."

Do you read the title of your email before deciding if to open it? A simple, "every time", will do if this is you.

Would you tell your most embarrassing stories if you thought it would cause your customers to convert?

Like, comment and share. Don't forget to let me know what's on your mind.

Great share, Candy with a lot of good advice 😃

I have also attended a couple of email marketing webinars lately, the last one from a very successful email marketer. It might very well be the same person that hosted the webinar you attended.

Your highlights are well made👍🏼. I would just throw in a word of caution, and it is not from me, but from the marketer that hosted the webinar I attended and another mentor I have, and that is not to go overboard with the number of emails you send. It will get you in trouble with your Autoresponder sooner or later.

I know from myself that I have unsubscribed from several marketers with a good reputation due to the frequency of emails they send out

The important part is to find a balance in the number and frequency of the emails. The necessity to keep your email list warm cannot be underestimated🤓.

Roy

Well said, Roy. I was looking at a different webinar where an internet marketer talked about a mistake he made where he stopped sending messages for months then when he did again everyone unsubscribed because they basically forgot who he was so yes we need to keep it warm.

I have also unsubscribed for the same reason you mentioned which is why that part was shocking to me.

A balancing act it is.

Thanks for stopping by and for your valuable input.

Have a fantastic Sunday.

I am like you, I had a tough time sending more than 2 emails a week because I personally hate marketers so greedy for money they are in your inbox 1 or more times a day 7 days a week. But they do make money because there is an offer that will resonate with someone, you just have to get that offer in front of them at the right time.

Another one that worked. “I am sorry, did I offend you?” I’d like to know who that guru , Mr. S but I get it due to spam no rules can’t say his name but other people do blog about famous marketers out there that helps us. I did try to search for that and came up with nothing. Your blog has great subject lines to use in email marketing.

Brenda,

I love that line too. Might steal it. Lol.

I am happy that the subject line appealed to you. I feel like I grew 5 inches overnight.

Check out the one Rudy mentioned in your search then and of course, you know what he does to help you out, Brenda.

I'd love to send everyone to see his webinar. However, this site does have rules.

So that is as much information I will give here.

Brenda, I have been watching loads of webinars related to my niche, and every day I learn something new.

You can't go wrong with that.

You had my attention at your night spent.
I was like, what?

Girl, that is the way to go.
All these values that we are getting from these webinars, let us internalised them and take action to improve our online business

To our success!
Success is not accidental and it also leave valuable clues

Lol. Simone, you better believe it.

I sat there like I had homework. I couldn't wait for him to finish to see all the great first liners I could come up with.

More than that I was checking my inbox for the great ones I knew I would find there.

Emailing has just been revolutionized for me.

To our success.

Awesome ;)

By the way, your reaction is exactly the sort I hope an email with this title would invoke.

:-)

Lol

Good Start, Every time, ? . Like .

Those are all Good Hooks for attention getters. I believe in the approach as described particularly as Les says in this age of the 3 second attention span!

Edward

Edward, you are so right. As I listened I realized he had nailed it. I open every email based on the lines I can see in the header.

He had his hooks down and used them over and over again to achieve a higher conversion rate.

Like most people, I love a good story. The funnier, more ones that appealed to our emotions are the ones we remember well.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.
