I have recently received an email from the Amazon .eu or french site saying they are closing my account, I know that since October I haven't had a sale through them but is this nor

Are you going to stay premium? Hope your schedule tones down. Maybe minus one class next semester? Wouldn't worry about Amazon, there are so many affiliate possibilities. Search for ones relevant to your niche when WA gets back into your schedule more.
Keep in touch. Will keep looking for you. ^_~

I am premium till November I think but because this course is a Diploma I think it used to be 2 years but this is 1 year and it's trimesters with shorter breaks inbetween. I am also going back to my homeland for a months vacation in July/August so catch up or reschedule/extension of course may be in order.

Using skills I have learned here on time management and prioritising has helped just need some further tuning and see if I can fit stuff in.

Gordi has explained it well. I got the same email warning me if I don't sell in 90 days that they are going to close my account. So to be safe, I applied to a few others and got immediate approval with better commissions and no time limit. Actually Amazon is a real pain to me and not worth fighting about or with.

Good luck with college and all the demands!

Lydia.

They've done it to me, or anyone else with no sales in 90 days. I guess they only want big-shot affiliates. Yes, you can re-apply, but wait until you are more established.
I signed up with Ebay, and was already with linkshare and clickbank. You don't want to tie yourself to just one affiliate program

Good info thanks for sharing

I just got a notice saying if I don't sell something soon they will close my account. You can join again later....

Hey David,

It's really going to depend on the reason for shutting you down. They change their policies all the time. You should check to see if there have been any changes in Australian law that affect affiliates because Amazon will cancel accounts due to these types of situations.

I would reach out to them, although they are not always very responsive to affiliates from what I have heard and read. They are not the most affiliate friendly company in the world.

When you do decide to come back into the foray of affiliate marketing and want to become an Amazon affiliate but they don't approve you, there still is an option. You could join VigLink.com (no affiliation) which is a third party Amazon middle man seller.

The funny part part about going that route is, because VigLink does huge volumes with Amazon, their commission structure is actually greater than Amazon's and they pass most of those commissions on to you. They take the spread as that is how they get paid.

Best Regards,
Jim

Added tutorial fix for the Internal Server Error here, please read before implementing so you can refine for your exact circumstances:

Thanks for adding this. Its good info for those that expeerince this problem of site going down. I have had it happen and used the ftp method before.

No problem Bo, I know that I panicked and there was a long wait for the support ticket that at that time only took me back to where wordpress was before the crash and when I tried to disable a plugin I was back at square one.

I like knowing how things work and the methods used to fix your site are relatively simple if followed methodically, knowing the cause of the problem helps eliminate and customise your fix too. Thats why I stressed read through the instructions first before commiting.
