Week 4: Breaking a Backwards Slide
Another week and my walk continues down the path towards my goals. Actually, with the Memorial Day holiday weekend, it has been a little more than a week and I’ve now completed a full 30 days here at WA.
This week, my website has taken a little bit of a downturn as I was unable to spend time working on the website and social media for a few days due to the long weekend. For those that have seen my website, you know I’m very involved with youth soccer because of my children and this holiday weekend the family travelled with my son so he could compete in the GA State Cup tournament. After returning from the weekend, and checking the analytics for my website, I saw a lot of downward trends so I immediately made it my objective to recoup the losses and start some new upward trends.
Now that I’m at the 30-day mark, it’s time to review my first non-financial goals to evaluate where I’m at…
- First 10-days Goal – Identify Niche and Build Website: I did meet this goal in the first 10 days; However, afterwards, I did change the website template and do some modifications to layouts, images, and posts to improve its appearance.
- First 30-days Goal – Achieve a First Sale: I did not yet meet this goal; my site rankings are slowly improving but my pages are not yet high enough in the search results to get an adequate number of click-throughs to turn into a sale.
So, where to from here? Well, I need to keep working towards a good, and effective, daily routine to increase traffic to the website. The minor setback due to the time away from the website may be a blessing in disguise.
I have noticed changes in my analytics as I restarted efforts on my website this week. As such, I have decided, for the next couple of weeks, to focus on three particular posts and monitor the effects of my efforts on ranking and obtaining traffic for those pages. One of these posts is a product review page so, with focus on these pages, I anticipate that the review page should get adequate ranking and traffic to eventually convert to a sale.

Thank you, Tim.
The boys had 3 very close games but walked away with 2 loses and a draw. Though, the boys did play well and were controlling the ball well and attacking a lot... In one game, they were attacking so much that the opposing team changed to a 6-defender formation (6-2-2) to shutdown the attacks.
Overall, a fun weekend. Thanks for asking.
