Greetings WA World. I hope you’re having a great Sunday. It’s raining and miserable here in Somerset today, definitely a day to keep cosy and read a good book.
I wanted to share with you the photo in this blog. I’ve walked past it lots of times on my way for a coffee (and cake) at Benedict Street Kitchen.
It’s on the wall of the local Junior School, for 5 to 11 year olds, and I never cease to be amazed at the power of this message to the kids as they walk past it every time they enter the school building. I’m even more amazed that this is in Glastonbury, a town known for its extreme laid back attitude, (really extreme!)
Dream, Believe, Achieve
Looking at the photo there are all the symbols, words and prizes that we might strive for at WA and in life in general. To be a winner, to win the race, to be good at reading and writing and ‘rithmatic. To believe that YOU can do it, that YOU can achieve your dreams.
What a great way to start each day for a 7 or 8 year old.
I can dream and I believe in my dream, I know I can achieve.
Just think, every child, during their 5 years at the school must walk past and see this painting at least 4000 times. The message must sink in and I just wonder what these children will be like, how successful will they be in 20 years from now as they settle into a full time career.
I wish them every success.
And success to all of you too.

I will Myra. I've just had some left over chicken and a huge plate of oven chips. A lazy meal even if it is calorie enriched.
But I did make myself carrot and sweet potato soup for lunch. One of my favourites and surely low enough in calories to offset the chips.
