Do This Three Times for Success

Hello everybody. Hope you are all well and up for the action.

I want to share with you a little tip that will help you to interact with your clients and viewers much more effectively.

We were always taught, all those years ago, that when talking to a group of people about a campaign a plan of action, or any training session to tell the good people three times.

First. Tell them briefly what you are going to be talking about.

Second. Then tell them in detail about it. Cover all the points that you want them to be involved with and who is doing what.

Third. Tell them what you have just told them, summarise the information you have just given them.

And I have found the same principles work with my website and YouTube videos.

I always begin with an introduction on the subject, for example …

“Today we will talk about how to trace faults on ring circuits”

Then, stage two, I go in depth and discuss how the circuit works, as a reminder to those that might have forgotten some points. And I will move on to the different types of problems and how each of these should be addressed and importantly, why this method works. I talk about the sort of readings to expect on their test meter for good and bad circuits and the dangers of the faults if left unrepaired.

Finally, I will briefly summarise what we talked about.

And finally, finally …

“If you want more information, take a look at these other videos from LearnElectrics on these links and don’t forget that there is more information on the website at www. ------- .com”

This approach works very well. You get their interest early on and lock them in to watching or reading the rest of the information and by summarising and suggesting further reading or viewing you get the client or viewer to revisit your website.

It’s also good for you too. You can read the opening statement and ask yourself …“Did I tell them all that I promised I would”

And in the summary as well as putting - in a nutshell - the key words, phrases or information that you want them to remember, you can sell them the idea of looking at other articles on your website – keeping them hooked to you.

Try it, it’s easy to achieve and it does have benefits for you and your customer

Bux, I call that presentation an appetizer, the main course, and dessert. Works every time.

That's a nice way to describe it, I like that.
Thanks for the new wording.
