Focusing on Quality, Leads to Success
Focusing on Quality, Leads to Success
It’s a common misconception that in order to be successful, you have to focus on quantity. Quantity is often seen as the key to success, especially in the business world. However, this could not be further from the truth. In fact, focusing on quality is the key to success in any area of life. When it comes to work, relationships and even food, quality should be the main focus in order to achieve happiness and success.
Many people believe that they need to take on a lot of work in order to be successful. They think that by taking on more projects, they’ll be able to complete them all and get ahead. However, this usually leads to problems down the road. When someone takes on more than they can handle, the quality of their work suffers. They may be able to complete all the projects, but they won’t be happy with the results. It’s better to focus on a few projects and do them well, than to try to take on too much and end up with sub par results.

The same concept applies to relationships. It’s better to have a few close friends or family members than to try to keep in touch with numerous people. When you focus on quality, you’re able to create deeper, more meaningful relationships. These types of relationships are more likely to last than ones that are based on quantity.
Even the food you eat should be of quality over quantity. It’s better to eat a few healthy meals each day than to try to stuff yourself with junk food. When you focus on quality, you’re more likely to feel satisfied and happy. Quantity will only leave you feeling bloated and unhappy.
It’s important to focus on quality in all areas of life. Quantity is not the key to success. In fact, it’s often the cause of problems. Quality should be the main focus in order to achieve happiness and success.
Value
The saying goes that “quality over quantity” is a key to success in many areas of life. This is certainly true, but it’s not the only thing that matters. Another important factor is value.
When you focus on quality, you’re able to produce better results. However, if the quality of your work isn’t valuable to others, then it won’t matter how good it is. For example, if you’re a writer, it doesn’t matter how well-written your articles are if nobody wants to read them. In order to be successful, you need to produce something that other people value.
Essentially, if you have the patience to continually create high quality content, that offers value to your audience, you will soon be achieving any targets or goals that you have set yourself.
Is it time for change?
Now that you understand the importance of quality over quantity, it’s time to take action. Start by evaluating the different areas of your life. What could you do to focus on quality instead of quantity?

In your professional life, could you take on fewer projects and focus on doing them well? In your personal life, could you focus on creating deeper relationships with fewer people? When it comes to food, could you focus on eating healthy meals instead of succumbing to the temptation of junk food?
Remember, quality over quantity is the key to success. Focusing on quality will create a much more positive and long-lasting result. So don’t be afraid to start making some changes in your life today. Your future self will thank you for it.

Some good advice here, Danny! In the market that I am currently in, I'll take whatever work I can get, as long as it is something I can handle!
Jeff
Hi Danny
I do agree with your powerful message.
There is, however, a factor that is worth people being aware of...
... often, quality (or the ability to deliver quality) is developed as a result of a great deal of focused, deliberate, practice... i.e. most often people who deliver quality tend to have invested large chunks of time in delivering quantity first.
My point is that any skill that starts as less than ideal, that someone wants to develop, is developed, through deliberately focused practice. Quantity, if analysed for feedback, is the key to eventually learning what it takes to deliver quality.
:-)

Hi Richard,
Yeah I totally agree that any skill or craft needs a significant amount of time investing in order to consistently create/supply products or services of high quality.
Finding that balance in the early stages, and not being overly critical to yourself is important too.
Danny
That is a fantastic read Danny, and I wholeheartedly agree with you that quality trumps quantity any and everyday of the week!
I love the food comparison as well, but.... sometimes the odd Saturday night kebab can't be too bad can it?!
I wish you much continued success my friend! :-)
Ohhh I could never totally exclude the 'junk food' from my life, it tastes too good to ignore. I just try and keep the balance more in favour of the healthy options so I am free to enjoy the not-so-healthy options when the temptation becomes to strong.
Best of luck on your journey :-)
