"No Trespassing!"

I usually exhibit this on here around Christmas Time. It's December, so CLOSE ENOUGH! :)

My brother died in 2000. This film was made in 1974 on a Super 8 camera. It's pretty crude and primitive, but it's funny. His old English teacher had this film for some time and sent our family a digitized copy of it. About two or three years ago, my sister gave me a copy of it and I added the sound effects and the Intro/Outro to it.

Entitled, "No Trespassing!" I took this silent footage and put some life into it. Unfortunately, due to converting it from one file format to another, I lost some of the quality, but it is still legible and uncut, meaning, in the original film, there are some blips and imperfections in it. It adds to the fun rather than diminishes.

I hope you enjoy it! I consider it one of my best productions. We used to love taking these field bombs through the woods, making new trails and going for exciting rides.

The filming here was done at a farm in Westhampton, Massachusetts, which is one of the hill towns. Our regional high school is located here and it served five towns, Southampton, Westhampton, Chesterfield, Williamsburg and Goshen.

My brother and I were both candidates for the Individual Learning Center (ILC) and had some of the best times of our lives, from building and using a black and white photo developing laboratory, to visiting the local sugar bush where we used to enjoy fresh maple syrup and watch them boil down the sap.

Some of you have seen this, but since I exhibited this the first time on here, I've improved the sound and music on it. There are some new people on here that will enjoy this!

Happy Holiday Season!

Hi Daniel
would love to view the film, unfortunately, my internet connection is very poor so im not even going to try.
Will watch when l get back home in 7-8 days time.
Wish you all the best
R.

You will like it. It's on the primitive side but that's what helps make it funny. I put in all the sound and the music and it took quite a while to get it right!

Thanks for sharing this. I did a bit of videography so know what a project it can be. What a hoot and holler! Fun to see all the great old cars and trucks. So true what you said about them in the stream of comments.

Linda "-)

Yeah, anything "video" means time, time, time!

Great work. Thanks for the share
Sami

You are very welcome Sami :)

I loved it Daniel,it was very entertaining and the music just mirrored the whole film.I did not know it was staged though,I thought these guys on the mopeds just came in from nowhere I tried to steal your car.Was your brother driving the truck or the car.

This was an English class project in my brother's class. The film was made in November 1974. He was 15 years old at the time and is the one driving the truck. I used to wear the same overalls my brother has on in the film. At the end of the movie, when it shows other suggested movies, you will find some others of mine on there, though they are the first ones I've ever done. There's one, chasing a chicken which is pretty funny too.

Them were the days!

Yeah, they were. We used to make trails all over the place and neighbours would put piles of dirt in front of the trails where they go onto their property and we would just go around them! You could beat on these old cars and they would not die. Today, any of these that made it to our day still running and fixed up are worth a mint! In those days, they were field bombs.

Talk about how things were made in the old days, today my boss and I installed a basin from the turn of the century. Wow! That thing was heavier than any bathtub is today! You can bet that construction workers from 1900 were pretty strong and able-bodied! They sure don't make kitchen sinks like they used to! This thing weighs about 200 pounds and we had to pull it back out twice before we got it to fit properly!

It's one of those 1/4-inch thick cast iron ones with porcelain coated on it. It has a single basin with two drainers, one on each side. Was I glad we finally got it in!

They still make them but you pay for it. I got one for my kitchen future), it cost me $500. As soon as I get my new cabinets in I will install anew countertop and then install that sink. It needs extra support in these shitty new cabinets. Will be fun to do.

Yeah, I just did a kitchen job and one of the worst things people do is have the old cabinetry gutted and simply don't realize that the crappy particle board cabinets they get to replace them is not going to last one-tenth of the time!

The basin we put in was beautifully preserved. It was in a barn for a long time. It was dirty and nasty and when I first found out they were going to be using it I said, "You mean that piece of junk out there???"

Cleaned up, it looks almost like new! Unfortunately the cabinets they used to support it is...you guessed it - particle board.

If the sink you are getting is like the old ones, and it has dish drainers built-in, be sure to check weather underneath drops below the edge of the sink where it meets the counter top. We had to pull this thing up twice before the counter top was cut so it would accommodate it.

These old kitchen sinks didn't rest on counter tops in those days, rather a strong mount against the wall and two cast iron legs. The back of the sink has four tabs cast on them and this was part of the back mount. We didn't even notice them and that was the first reason we had to pull it up again, and then the second time was due to the dish drainers on each side of the basin. It wasn't fun trying to get it back up without marring the chopping block counter top!

Sounds like a job they used to do in the "old days". I haven't looked at my sink for quite some time, it is still in the box. I just know it takes two people to move it from the shed to the house. And yes, he new cabinets are absolute crap but better than the ones in my Mobile Home at present. You can hardly tell anymore that we are living in a Mobile Home. Fortunately we own the lot but it is zoned for Mobile Home only. Probably because some day they (the city) will kick us out and pay us their idea of market value. Well, they will have a fight on their hand! I won't move unless they pay me what I think it is worth.
Long story. So, have a good weekend and talk to you next week. Mike

I wrote and liked your comment. I don't know what happened to this. I did this several days ago. It's the second time during the last three weeks or so a comment of mine disappeared. Either I'm losing my mind or there's a bug in the system. Someone else complained about this recently as well.

Hey Daniel, don't worry about it. I have similar problems and a good excuse. I am getting "selective" hearing, selective vision, and selective everything I don't like too much. Old Age!

It's late but I saved it to watch later and subscribed. Looks good. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you enjoy it Jay. It's not quite 10 minutes long. It took quite some time to get the sound into it and get it to sync correctly. Even now, some of the sounds are a bit off, like where a minibike goes through a stream of water. You hear the splash first and then it goes through! LOL.

That is awesome to me. Like watching old Shaw Brothers Chinese films dubbed in English

It's primitive, but that's part of the fun. That's a pretty unique take on it (Saw Bros.) The only movies I could find of these were those in audible Chinese but with English subtitles.

I have my own Super 8 movies that I made when I was a teen-ager. Someday I will process these if, and when I can find a working projector or device that will convert the film images to another media so not trying to record images on a projector screen, which creates terrible quality.
