World Refugee Day in Australia, New Zealand and fhe Pacific: 20 June 2023

An important day for us to commemorate. Here's a quick introduction for you (UNHCR, Australia).
World Refugee Day is a globally recognized day established by the United Nations to pay tribute to refugees worldwide.
It occurs annually on June 20th and commemorates the resilience and bravery of individuals compelled to leave their native lands due to conflict or persecution.
World Refugee Day serves as a platform to foster empathy and comprehension for their challenging circumstances, while acknowledging their remarkable determination in reconstructing their lives.
This year, World Refugee Day focuses on the power of inclusion and improved support for refugees.
Hope away from Home. A world where refugees are always included.
Incorporating refugees into the communities where they have sought refuge is the most impactful approach to assisting them in reestablishing their lives and empowering them to make meaningful contributions to their host countries.
How are we welcoming and supporting our refugees in our own backyards?
This is a challenge for us all, but one we can meet, if we stand united in mind and spirit.

Thanks Jeff. It's nice to hear from you. We had a rough week at home last week (illness) but we are all healthy again and I'm about to spend the day with our little miss gorgeous Lilly. It's very cold here, but hoping to get out with her for a bike ride, parks, cafe lunch and repeat π€ππ΄ββοΈtake care my friend
