How do you respond to negativity?

Hi WA community,
This is just a little message that shares a moment of my life just yesterday, but hopefully has a huge positive impact on you.
I love to ride my bike. Again, yesterday while riding I was on the receiving end of some pretty colorful language (don't worry, I've been called much worse ๐ฅฑ).
My initial thoughts and reaction? Not great, but within those few moments after, I really just wanted the car to come back so that I could tell them my story.
Show them my scars and tell them, I forgive them.
That's right, under that Lyca is a human, with a heart just like you and me. They are someone's brother or sister, son or daughter, husband or wife, someone's mother or father and like everyone else, deserve to be treated with kindness, respect and generosity.
After my initial 'not so great' thoughts toward those people in the car, I responded the right way.
I prayed for them ๐๐๐๐
How do we respond to those who knock us or abuse us?
How do you respond to those who abuse you?
I have a dualistic remedy.
1. Go ride your bike. No, seriously it will bring so much joy and happiness to you it's incredible. Go on, give it a go.
2. Pray!
That's it. Have a wonderful day everyone

Sorry about your incident. I encounter more negativity at the grocery stores! We live in a world where people go hungry and have little access to good fresh food. However, they are not shopping where I shop. Why is it necessary to push through an aisle?
Negative remarks while I am putting a couple of apples in a plastic bag or making sure there are no cracked eggs in the carton make them feel better?
Strange world we live in.

What a great message. You definitely have the right idea. For those who want to bring us down are the ones with the problem. Keep riding and smiling!

You reacted wonderfully!
You have protected yourself from evil, you have preserved your health!

Vasile,
But I'm really fortunate where I live for bike riding. Every road has a great bike lane and motorists and cyclists treat each other with mutual respect.
Aww, that just blessed me right this moment after reading your blog ๐๐ผ
Wow Dale ! I am beginning to know the kind of person you are! Thank you! Thank you for sharing! I wish I can bike right now, but we are having such a weird winter. And I donโt think itโs wise for me to even try. As I havenโt heard nor seen a snow tire for bikes yet! ๐
Have a truly fabulous and blessed day !
Cheers,
Maria ๐น

For me personally, it doesn't matter what others do, think, and say! I have no time for these issues.
Excellent blog post and share.

Nice message here Dale, thanks for sharing.
I find negativity is part of life. There is no such thing as acknowledging something positive unless have experienced the negative, or know of negative in some way.
It is really a cycle in life, just nature really.
But I find staying tuned to more of a positive frequency of energy, it attracts more of the same.
Yes I Pray it is helpful and Thanks to God I still live another day.
Keep riding, I know I use to ride a bike everywhere. I often think of getting back to the ๐ฒ
Kind regards
Erica
Thanks for your comments and sharing your experiences, Erica. Hey, go on, get back on the bike as they say! ๐๐ดโโ๏ธ
positivity fuels positivity, yes. by surrounding ourselves with positive influences we will be better able to help others, and meet their needs whatever these may be.
Thanks Dale,
Happy days they were riding ๐ฒ
