First month into my WA journey, as recommended in the training is to post an update..my first WA post.

My niche is something I’m passionate about, balancing a corporate career which requires a lot of time away from home which at times puts pressure on my personal life..my ongoing challenge is finding YOUR BALANCE.

I have created a website to focus on Work-life balance, blogs and product reviews on health, wealth and travel.

  • Health - fitness, product reviews, supplements, mental health, sleep
  • Wealth - alternate income streams, promoting the laptop lifestyle and digital marketing with Wealthy Affiliates.
  • Travel - Share my travel experiences, from domestic travel with Australia or my travel around the world. A reward for all your hard work and share quality time with my family and friends.

To be honest, building my website has been my biggest challenge. I have tried a number of different themes and landed on ‘Blogger Buzz’. The theme does have limitations, does not like Yeost as I had to deactivate as the plugin as it froze my site. Plus had an issue adding my Google Adsense link to my menu, plus adding my Pinterest link to my icon...very frustrating at times!

I have read the reviews and recommendations is to only use paid themes which I am considering to purchase Blogger Buzz Pro upgrade. I would appreciate any feedback or comments on the theme and if I should invest in the upgrade.

I have attended the weekly webinars which I have found very informative, Jay is very engaging and highly recommend you to dial in to the webinar. I have found the training educational and helpful, with my website setup I have found YouTube very helpfully. I have also read a number of the WA blogs which has been very helpful and support why I started this journey. The support from the community is fantastic!

Question- I have noticed Wordpress community events advertised in the Dashboard, does anyone have advice?

SHORT TERM GOAL- My goal is to learn the new skills, understand the affiliate business model, continue to research my niche and enjoy the journey with WA. I have not put a monetary goal in place as I need to earn the right to earn a income once I have learnt the skills. A wealthy affiliate student!

LONG TERM GOAL- Establish an income to allow myself future opportunities to transition into a laptop lifestyle and geographic freedom. Become a WA expert and support new community members.

Thanks to all who have welcomed me to o WA and followed my journey!

Cheers,

Daemien

Hi, Damien.
Paul Mindra here from Canada.

Nice start to your journey. I am going to agree to disagree with the information given that you must use only paid themes.

Paid themes are better suited for revenue generation through ads and spam. Free themes should be a blogger's first choice.

I'm sure there are many out there that will agree to disagree with me.

Once again,

Welcome to the Wealthy Affiliate Online Scholl Of Learning Community.

Kindest regards,

Paul Mindra @PMindra.

Cheers to you too! You seem to have some wonderful goals in place and sounds like you are off to a great start. Take care and stay motivated!
Michelle
