Hey Daemien,
The following tutorial may offer you the help you seek: How to Upload a Custom or Premium Theme When I tried uploading the premium version after installing the free version, I had to delete the free version so that WordPress would allow me to upload, install and activate the paid version.
If that happens to you, try temporarily activating a different theme and then upload and activate your premium theme... this way you won't lose any settings from having started with the free version.
Also... if your zip file has more than just the theme inside... if you can see anther zip file inside the one you downloaded from the theme developer's site, then you may need to unzip the first file so that you have ONLY the theme file to use in uploading your premium theme.
Hope you find this helpful.
I can’t seem to find the header option the theme, I have installed a header plugin but still no option to install Google Adsense...any advice?
Hey Daemien,
If you have installed the header and footer plugin: Why Use Headers and Footers Plugin and entered your Google Adsense code in the appropriate field and it STILL does not display then perhaps your theme is stopping it.
Be sure to check and see if your theme already offers you an option to add code to their header. If not then you will need to hunt for a plugin that will play better with your theme selected.
Having recently had similar issues with an awesome theme I am working with, when I contacted the developer and mentioned that I would love this particular option included, the developer thought it such a great idea they did that immediately and issued me a new theme file to use.
So... there is that option too... meaning you might consider contacting the theme developer and explaining you issue. Perhaps then they would include a field where you could add your Google Adsense code and NOT need a plugin. Just at thought...
Hope you find this helpful.
Hi - the easiest way is to install the "insert headers and footers" plugin. When you open it, there are two boxes. Paste the code into the top box, the header box.
This first piece of code simply allows Google to inspect your website to see if it is suitable. You won't see any changes. It can take up to 3 weeks before they make a decision.
