Core “Business Start Up” Training

Is there anyway to recover from the new Google updates? My site traffic was on the rise until the updates, now I am lucky to see 5 visits a day.

Jay's recent training series on recovering from the update will show you exactly what to do.

I can relate. I had this same problem a few years ago. A Google update completely destroyed my traffic. What I have learned is that I cannot rely solely on search. Depending on what your niche is, see if you can generate more traffic from social media posts. Continue to build your audience and brand this way. This seems to be the best way around Google updates. I hope that helps.

And yes, the training from Jay posted below should help, too.

Thank you.

Try Jay's video series Rank Recovery.

I will check this out. Thank you.

Just curious about the new writing assistant. Are there going to be any perks for different levels of membership, or is it going to require pay access for everyone?

What writing assistant?

Was that mentioned in a recent blog by Kyle?

Rudy

Hi Chris

I think Kyle will be speaking about it shortly.

Frank 🎸

We have a blog post coming today with more details on the new SiteContent refresh, and the future of SiteContent and AI content creation. Stay tuned.

You currently have access to 3,000 word credits as a Premium Plus+ member, which is 30 Article Outlines per month. This is going to really help you speed up the content creation process. ;)

OK so the word credits will reset every month then? Am also curious how those are spent when the complete platform is released? I do like what I see so far, just have so many questions.

That's awesome, Kyle :) I haven't noticed till now.

Good question; I am not sure if that will be the case.

I think with the Wealthy Affiliate platform, you can access it.

However, if you are using apps like ChatGPT and Claude, which are independent, you may choose to use the free or paid versions.

The last 20 posts I have made to my site have not been indexed in Google. Is there something I could be doing wrong? All my SEO settings are green. My keywords are below 50 on

You have FANTASTIC responses here, kindly let us know if you need additional assistance :)

Another thing to consider is internally linking from your indexed posts to the ones that aren't Chris. I do believe that what Frank says about the Google sandbox may be the "issue" as it's just a matter of time until they start to do so. This is normal for any site under 6 months.

And that makes sense. I was just concerned as it seemed like they stopped getting indexed suddenly. Just making sure that I am not doing something wrong on my end. Guess I am just anxious for good things to come, or bigger things I should say.

Hi - first of all, do you mean ranking or indexing?

Indexing simply means that Google has found your post and added it to the search engine.

Ranking is when Google decides what page it is going to be on in the search engine results.

A post can take 6 to 8 months to achieve its final ranking position.

Until then, Googe continually tests it against your competitors; the ranking will fluctuate during this phase.

A post could be on page three initially, then page one the next month, and then, a couple of weeks later, be ranked nowhere.

Sorry for the confusion. They have not been indexed yet.

Ok, do you have Google Search Console set up?

If so, you can submit each post to try and encourage Google to index them.

But, unfortunately, at the end of the day, only Google can decide whether to index a post or not.

I have edited the question to reflect your suggestions. Thank you Diane.

I did not know about submitting the posts manually. I have not tried that method yet.

Hey!

Can you add your website to your profile? It helps if there's ever questions about it, we're able to easily find it. It's not considered self-promotion this way unless you're like EVERYONE GO HERE. But since it's help you need, we gotchu!

I'm guessing that since you said your SEO settings are green, that you're using a SEO plugin like AIOSEO. These are really good to use but should be used as a guide. @ParthaB wrote a good article mentioning how you can trick your SEO score on these plugins.

Here's the top things I would check:
Is your target keyword in the url slug?
Are your images alt text set as the keyword?
And finally, have you manually submitted the sites to google search console?

I hope this helps you out! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Site added to profile. I am using the SEO framework plugin. I am not using alt text in my images. I will adjust that and see what happens. Thanks for the tips Joe!

I have updated the alt text for all images to reflect the keywords as suggested. I will in alt text in all images from now on. Thanks for the tip.

Awesome, you're welcome! The website looks good! There's always quite a lag effect with ranking on google, so that's why they emphasize to just keep targeting and writing.

You just joined WA last month, so you’re still in the Google “sandbox” and have a low domain authority.

That’s quite a few posts in that period of time for a presumed beginner.

How many posts on your site got ranked before these twenty?

Have you checked your competition on page one of Google for these twenty keywords? Also, how does the quality of your posts compare to theirs?

Frank 🎸

The previous 20 were indexed quite quickly. One would assume that my post quality and content would be improving over time as I am learning more with each one. I will try the comparisons you have suggested Frank. Thank you for your input.

Reading your answer to Diane, I recommend you act on her advice first.

However, even if a keyword has a low QSR in Jaaxy, I would still follow the steps I outlined before deciding to write the article.

Frank
