America's dinosaurs almost extinct
Success in any industry takes time, no one just gets out there and goes straight to the top.
Made a lot of good friends in construction over the years. Most of them it didn't matter how much money was made during the week they live by that amount of money. I did the same thing now I'm looking at retirement. What am I going to do?
I'll tell you what I'm not going to do. I'm not going to pout about it. I'm going to dig back in and make the money I need to make to retire, the only way I know to do that, is an old trick we used to pull when we were searching for homes to remodel. To sell your product or your company basically you have to go talk to homeowners. So one of the main things is making sure you dress properly, looking presentable in front of a customer earns a lot of respect, it lets them know that what you're doing is important to you. I'll go to Staples make up 50 flyers me and one of my friends would drive around the most expensive neighborhood in our town and personally hand out them flyers. See it doesn't work if you put the flower on their doorstep, they're going to ball it up and throw it in the trash. To build a relationship with a customer you have to be in their face, in the main goal was get your foot in the door so on our flyers we would have sheetrock repair, that'll get you in the door, painting, that'll get you in the door. Didn't want you in it's a no-brainer you upsell nine times out of 10 a maintenance contract where you come back once a month and do a small repair in the years time you've repaired most of their home and they're happy versus giving them a full price estimate and then looking at you like you're crazy. Maintenance contracts for the way to go back then now everything's computers. And the industry has lost a lot of workers kids these days don't do hard labor like we did in my area.
I said all that to say this if I'm going to be competitive in this business I have got to turn up the volume, and get some bass, cuz me singing soprano just doesn't sound right time for action.
and if you're wondering what that action is going to be I'll go ahead and fill you in see I'm no good with computers I never touch one until 2 months ago. But I have a great sense of business I always have and one thing I've learned is I don't know how to do everything.
So when it came to plumbing or electrical work. I picked up the phone and called one of my friends who did that type of work paid them to come and do it. Now while they were there I was watching them and if I ever needed to do it I could bounce off of what I learned. I will be able to do small jobs with no problem. But I had to learn it first and my problem is I don't have time to learn what it takes to do everything on the computer.

You're talking about outsourcing, which a lot of "one man bands" just don't do. Fiverr and Upwork are both excellent sources of experts in fields that you aren't. Video and cover design are two of mine. Of course, you need to have a little money to invest.
If the community has any pointers on how to learn computer work fast please let me know
The way to learn it is to get your hands dirty doing it.
Dive into the lessons, follow them step by step, follow the video tutorials, and focus on learning. That's what it's all about :)

Have you created a website yet? WA gives you a step-by-step guide on building a website, which I don't think I would have been able to do without this help.
As with construction or anything else, the best way to learn is to just do it. Get a website started and then whatever else you want to do on that website either do a Google search, or ask the community here.
Please start with the training offered on here. It will answer many of the questions you will have. You will learn as quick as the time you spend training.
