Earning Money Online: How Does $1,000 per Month Sound?
A lot of people dream about earning money online. Not a lot of people take steps to make it happen. But if you are here, reading this, then you want it, whether as full-time income, or as a little extra on the side. So, what are you willing to do to make it happen? When it comes to earning money online, how does $1,000 per month sound to you?
This is the question that came up today as part of a meeting with Bo Tipton, who has agreed to share his knowledge with us and help us get to a point where we are earning at least $1,000 per month from our websites.The commitment he is making is huge. Potentially a full year of his time, spent guiding, teaching, helping. What is he asking in return?
Mentorship for others once we are successful.
And that, to me, is as exciting as the thought of making a living online.

Bo has dubbed us the Go-Getters. I personally think we missed a fantastic opportunity to name the group the Bo-Getters.In fact, I think that'll be my personal nickname for the group, a gathering of 16 people coming together to try to build something special, not just for ourselves, but for everyone, in the true spirit of Wealthy Affiliate.
Today, we basically learned what we will learn going forward from here.. We discussed what Bo has in mind and what he hopes to achieve with all of us. That $1,000? That's the minimum that he is hoping for us. The idea is that by the time we reach that goal, we will have the knowledge and skill to grow our earnings to the level we want.
Aside from the money issue though, what stood out for me is pretty much the same thing that Kyle always talks about: helping people.
We discussed how our true goal with our sites is to offer value and assistance to others. We are here to help. If we can do that, the money will take care of itself.
We also discussed the concept of our USP (Unique Selling Point) which Bo demonstrated to us with our last assignment. We all have our own unique perspective, and our own Voice with which to express it. I think this is a wonderful thing for anyone who is afraid that they won't stand out in their niche, or who is afraid that they don't have something to offer.
You do have something to offer: yourself. And that is more than enough!
We also discussed focus, and I was glad for that. I have been making an effort to focus on the positive side of things because what we focus on grows. If you focus on your fears, they will dominate.Focus instead on the positives.
There's something you don't know? Great! You have a chance to learn. There's something you did wrong? Fantastic! You have the opportunity to fix it up and make it better. Every negative holds the seed of something positive.
Focus!
The last thing I want to touch on is also related to focus, and deals with promoting Wealthy Affiliate.
How do you do it?
Do you suggest that it is a great way to earn money? Do you promote it based on making money?
We have all seen new members come in here, anxious to start, ready to learn and put things into effect, and excitedly looking forward to earning money in a month. Or a week.
What happens when they don't make that quick cash? They often leave, frustrated, and that is no good for Wealthy Affiliate as a platform, for you as a promoter, or especially for them.
Think of your potential referrals. Don't sell them on a quick buck when you know that it takes time to get rolling. Instead, focus on the amazing opportunity to learn, to gain the knowledge needed to build their own business online. Then they have a better idea of what to expect when they join. They will know that it takes time and will be much more willing to stick around and work toward their goals.Make sure that you are helping them. By doing so, you will help yourself.
There were other things of course, but you can learn all about them in some of the other blogs. I'm just commenting on what mattered to me.
I expect the coming weeks and months to be difficult, exciting, rewarding and fun. I look forward to learning, but more than that, I look forward to sharing.
And I just want to add something. I shouldn't really need to say this, but I will, since I have seen some comments elsewhere that necessitate it: there is nothing sneaky going on here. The training Bo is sharing with us uses the Wealthy Affiliate resources. We are not running off to another platform, paying extra fees, etc. We are just getting together to discuss and make use of the training that already exists here.
So what is so special about the group then, if it's using everything from WA? Well, there is personal guidance from someone with a lot of experience for one thing, but it also involves accountability. Those of us in this group are accountable to one another. We are expected to do certain tasks and get things done. We support each other, encourage each other, and give the occasional nudge if needed.
Just like the community as a whole.
The difference is that we will have more frequent interaction with one another and as a result be more invested in one another. That's a good thing. That's an awesome thing. This groups is just a microcosm of WA as a whole.
So.... Get ready. This is going to be a great and exciting thing for everyone involved. And if you are reading this, whether you are in the group or not, you're involved.

Bo certainly is bringing out the best in all of you. I did have a concern about all these mentoring groups diluting the WA training....but never about the intentions of Bo. It was clear from the start he was enhancing WA training. And yes, we will benefit somewhat from what you share, but we aren't being held accountable to do the work, which is what success us all about. I wish you nothing but the best from this experience. It's motivating me.

You hit many great points here, Craig. The one I relate most to this AM, as I dig out in the NE, is the accountability. We are - the expectations are high, the commitment level is high, and the results will be amazing. Anyone who does not want the commitment level is free to drop out, no harm, no foul. There is a waiting list. Those who stay will benefit, and with Bo's guidance, we will all be sharing regularly what we learn, to pay it forward to the rest of the WA community. Stay tuned. This is just the first week!
For me, that accountability is very important.
It's easy to join WA. It's easy to sign up for the excellent training here. And it's easy to sit around, not really doing it. This is *work*, and even though it is for our own benefit, many of us have bad habits and don't really pursue our goals the way we should.
Being part of this group will provide greater incentive to succeed. He have *homework* now, which most of us probably haven't dealt with in years.
If you are committed to success, this group is committed to getting you there.

I am one who is highly accountable to myself and my own goals. I do not make excuses. Sometimes I have to make adjustments, sure, but not an excuse, nor a procrastination.
It is great to be a part of a group who will hold themselves and one another accountable. It's the only way! Being responsible is key.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! And I am so glad you mentioned the microcosm. And the fact that being in business means we are taking on the mantle of responsibility and accountability. I read somewhere that these kinds of mentorship groups lead to 95% success rate. That is pretty fantastic number..yes? Count me in. Great job! And to me also, the fact that we get to pay it forward means the world to me too! It's all such a gift.

I totally agree with the concept. Yes, If I have all the necessary knowledge that Affiliate Marketing requires, surely I would have many people following me. Form a group would be very good because my lack of knowledge could be covered by another member of the group "quickly". In this way, the new members will be surprised and will be retained for a better future. Here in Argentina, it is said to please, do not leave me out!

Especially for clarifying what we are doing, we are never going to run off from Wealthy Affiliate, and I repeat, it will never happen.

Yes, I am not sure where suspicion arises from, but as you said, there is no money changing hands, and nothing that will draw out focus away from Wealthy Affiliate. Rather, if will push us deeper into the training that Kyle and Carson have provided right here!

Your Bo-Getters suggestion made me think of the "Wesley Crushers" joke from Big Bang. Do you know what I am talking about? Sheldon came up with it as their team name intended it to mean "those who will crush Wesley Crusher" at bowling but everyone else just saw it as a fan group since that is the character's name from Star Trek.

I am very happy and very excited for this opportunity. While this is focusing on training that is already available here at WA, the group environment allows us to approach things from different angles and see things in new ways, which is helpful, and it means that resources can be pooled when there is a problem to overcome.
I am really looking forward to do this, and also t being able to help others who might need it.

There is so much here that I know, but, am I doing it? Some days
I'm not focused, some days I'm negative, but by the end of all the emails I check I feel good, had a few chuckles cracked a few jokes & I feeling positive again.
I get stuck on the easy stuff, but it is sooo hard for me. Tomorrow I'll have another go, or not....
Really, are some people thinking Bo's not doing something above the board? I'm sure he passed it by Kyle & Carson. Many hands make light work It's a bit like compounding, adding more and more on top of the initial deposit.

Probably the best way here is to formulate a strategy and vision by from the group and create that blue ocean which converts.

I enjoyed reading your post Craig. I especially love the ideas about the way in which we market WA to others.
The way I see this now is that it is far better to approach it as a 'learn to earn' opportunity, rather than a 'make to flake away' one.
Pretty much. I think people inherently understand that building a business is something that takes time, but if they are given the impression that it is all about making money, they will want to know why they don't see any results after 3 months.
