Hey, I am Lula.

A little story.

I lived in a small town in rural America. Growing up on a ranch, I loved working with my hands, being outdoors, and being around animals. However, my passion was rodeo.

My love for rodeo started when I was just a little girl, and my father would take me to local rodeos on the weekends. Watching cowboys and cowgirls ride horses, rope cattle, and compete in barrel racing filled me with awe. Cheering on my favorite competitors, I dreamed of the day I could ride in the rodeo myself.

As I grew older, I began training with a local rodeo coach who had won medals while working on their ranch. I spent countless hours every day practicing barrel racing, calf roping, and bull riding. I would ride my horse, Dusty, through the fields and woods, honing my skills and building my strength. Winning a few prizes in small rodeos fueled my passion even more.

All my hard work and dedication paid off when I was invited to compete in the state rodeo championship. Although I was thrilled to compete against some of the best riders in the state, I was also nervous. The pressure was intense, and I had never competed in such a big event before.

However, I refused to let my nerves get the best of me. I rode Dusty confidently and skillfully, weaving around the barrels and lassoing the calf easily. I even managed to ride a bull for the first time, impressing everyone in the arena.

When the competition was over, I was ecstatic to hear that I had won first place in barrel racing and calf roping. The effort and persistence I had put in had resulted in success, and I knew this was just the beginning.

I became a true advocate in rodeo, inspiring young girls everywhere. And even though I am far from home, I always remembered my roots as a country girl who loved to rodeo.

Thanks, y'all - Wishing you well, continued success, and a terrific day!

Hi there, Lula

You must be totally in good shape to ride horses.
I hear that it works out every bone in your body.
I've only had brief memories of horses. Once walking
home from grammar school pass the Flemming's ranch.

Although the horses were fenced in, the fence was right
near the roadway. We never took that route again. Seeing them rear up on hind legs was enough to make my heart skip a beat.

The second time, it was a pleasant experience. My co-worker and I took special needs kids for equestrian-therapy as a part of our psychology training courses. The kids loved the horses. They were all so beautiful.

Amazing post thank you 😎👍

Thanks Anthony.

What a beautiful little story! And kudos to you!
I've been a rider - as a little girl I was super fascinated by horses! No rodeos for me, but I was the Horse Riding Captain of my school's Girls' Riding Team! Thank you for making me reminisce those days!

Terrific and thank you for sharing, Shobhali!

Well done Lula. Overcoming your nerves and getting 'the job done' is what it's all about.
