So Grateful
Hello all...I am alive and well!
A curfew was put on my county, which prevented me from returning to my home until a certain time.
Then, some routes home were blocked by giant oaks, which had fallen across the road. No problem, just back up and find an alternate route.
I finally arrived home to a big mess in the yard, and, lacking electricity, went right to work cleaning it up, and taking down the boards with which I had covered the windows. I needed a chain saw to remove some of the bigger limbs, but most, although heavy, were within my ability to drag to the debris pile at the curb, which is now roughly the size of a Winnebago!
Today, although electric was restored, i still had no TV, telephone, or internet, so I spent the day clearing the yard of all debris. Now, you wouldn't even know a storm had hit my property, but, boy, am I tired and sore!
When I came in from working most of the day, I saw that my internet had finally been restored.
Things could have turned out so much worse. The storm hitting land early and going up the entire state took a lot of steam out of it! It was only a category 1 or 2 when it passed right over my county, but now I know my home can take gusts in excess of 100 miles per hour!
Looters had attempted to get into the house, tearing a board off one window, unlatching both latches on the big northern gate, and checking out the boarded up French doors in front, and probably the one set in back which wasn't boarded up. (I had to get in and out somehow!)
They did not gain access, and I am thankful for that.
Mostly, I am grateful for all of you, and the many prayers which were graciously sent my way. You certainly helped me in my time of need!

It is just so nice to see you back safely Rick, we were all worried for you and were thinking and praying that you would be ok.
You take it easy now for a few days after doing all that hard work and that is dreadful that looters tried to get into your property. I saw on the news that a few of them had been caught and charged for doing the same thing.
Hope by now you have your power and tv back on as well. xxx

Oh thank God!!! You are safe!! I have been so worried as no one had heard from you yet. Most had already checked in and were accounted for. Thank goodness you are well.

I'm OK, Tammi. I just got my internet service back! It could have been so much worse. I was very fortunate, and I thank you so much for your support and prayers! :)
Just been extremely worried that maybe you couldn't get in touch due to more than the power outages. So glad that you are okay and that you escaped mortal or worse harm.

Thank goodness it is over. It is a shame that there are looters. But the important thing is you are doing great. Thanks for updating us; we worried about our Wealthy Affiliate friends.
