Mother Earth and Father Sun
I think we've only performed this song once, but it's got a good message...
MOTHER EARTH AND FATHER SUN
Mother Earth and Father Sun went walkin' on the mountain,
Mother Earth said, "Father Sun, I'm older, but, who's countin?
We've both been here a long, long time,
You warm your souls, I comfort mine,
And rain began to fall on the mountain.
Mother Earth and Father Sun beheld a mighty rainbow,
Father Sun said, "Mother Earth, let us bathe in its glow,"
Even the Gods
Need rest now and then,
And the Moon began to rise over the mountain.
Mother Earth, please show me the path that I must walk,
Father Sun, come and light my way,
For, though the night be dark,
The wind's beneath my wings,
And my spirit lives to soar another day.
Mother Earth and Father Sun, dancin' 'round the fire,
Mother Earth said, "Father Sun, war it is a liar,
For your worst foe may be your friend,
It's your own heart you need to mend,"
And the eagle flew high above the mountain.
Mother Earth and Father Sun, gazing down into the canyon,
Father Sun said, "Behold the wolf, and its constant companions,
Courage and serenity, wisdom, peace of mind,
Confidence and strength, faith in troubled times,"
And like a parent's loving arms, stillness wrapped around the mountain.
Mother Earth, please show me the path that I must walk,
Father Sun, come and light my way,
For, though the night be dark,
The wind's beneath my wings,
And my spirit lives to soar another day.
Mother Earth and Father Sun went walkin' on the mountain...
