About a week ago, I had these three updates on my site:
- I corrected every piece of content on my site using grammarly
- Update my PHP version to 7.3
I think it is the latest Google Algorithm update. That core update is getting many of us. Be patient and it will be fine. You did the right thing by updating what you did.
Everything you mentioned above could have a part to play in it, but also during this time, Google performed one of their major updates to their algorithm. May 2020 Google Core Update - Changes & Info The PHP and SQL changes could have impacted your site speed, this should have been for the better though.
If you have altered large amounts of content using Grammarly, then this will play a big role.
But the update from Google will more than likely be the main reason.
Have you run your site through the PageSpeed checker, what results do you get?
Hope this helps,
Chrystopher
It's normal for it to happen. Your rankings will climb again over time, but it will take a while.

Why my rankings dropped after updating my site?

Florin, Here is what happened to me. On one of my sites, about two days before the release of the new algorithm, my numbers dropped to almost 0. Yes 0. I decided it was freaky, so I waited a couple of days, and word came of the new release.
Within a few days after the release, my numbers went back up and are now higher.
I have no idea why this started two days before the release, but the good part is that my numbers did go back up.
I just wanted to give you some hope that the numbers can go back up.
