Tips on writing a great blog

Hi everyone, I watched Pat Flynns video on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgdY6_y12ts and found it so helpful and thought it may be a good idea to break it down in points and share it

Know what you are writing about.

• Outline your Topics
• Ask questions
• Survey your audience

Transformation.

• What is particular aim of blog

Outline your thoughts.

• Create a Skeleton frame of your blog (create notes)
• Outline your points backwards from transformation
• Create Supporting points

Start engaging readers

• Start strong
• Start with as story
• Ask a question
• Start with a fact or concept
• Don’t write in WordPress- you could lose your work when you hit publish (I use MS word)
• Just write- Clean up later
• Be you- Write the way you talk

Relevant and interesting title

• Title that generates curiosity
• Simple description of your content

Make your blog Scannable

• Break your content into tiny paragraphs
• Use headers and subleaders
• Bold and italics

Visuals

• Use relevant images
• Videos
• Don’t overdo it

Call to Action

• Typically, your CTA come at end of your post but can be anywhere within your blog
• Don’t overdo it. One or 2 links

Proof read

• Read it aloud
• Get a friend to do it for you.

There is no such thing as the perfect blog

• Don’t waste too much time
• Don’t be a perfectionist
• You can always make changes later
