I Didn't Listen To Kyle!
Uh oh. Mayday! Mayday!
Well, having used WordPress in the past, and not too well, I got carried away on the platform building out my first niche website. Now, nothing is working right, and things aren't saving or uploading to my site, and I can't even see any changes on my site.
I believe I shouldn't have pre-published it. I don't even remember why I chose to do this.
I downloaded some plugins I thought would be helpful to me. I also did some other backend adaptations, and surely, I didn't follow directions exactly. I do deal with some ST memory issues these days from Parkinsonism. I am sure that had something to do with this.
Under security check it shows I have six error messages. Although they give explanations about them, I don't understand how to fix them all. Once I removed all the plugins, the security check went from bad to good again, but still nothing is working right. I get freezing and the circle will keep spinning on everything I try to save.
Also, I may have deleted a plugin or two that were supposed to be there which WA put in for us.
I also only have a 31MB internet here in Germany in my apartment and it is part of my rent, so I can't do anything about that, and it goes out 1 to 3 times a day for a few minutes.
With all that said, I'm wondering if just deleting my site and starting over from scratch is the best choice at this point. Will I lose my site name and the hosting URL I paid for?
I am in a holding pattern. Yet, we can't let issues hold us back or make us give up. Therefore, I will use my time wisely today to go back over the first 7 lessons I've watched and read the information below the videos to bury it all deeper in my memory.
Other tasks to keep me busy will include writing my new Pro blog article and continue creating relative niche articles within WA. Also, I am reworking my logo, based on suggestions from Jay.
What am I trying to say? I can be a numbskull sometimes, and I am so very thankful for all of you and your help and suggestions. As I've been told by many of you, follow Kyle's lessons precisely and this won't happen to you.
For those even newer to this stuff than I, don't give up. One thing I did learn from owning offline businesses is that you always have to keep at it, learning, being willing to accept mistakes and failures, and forge on if you want to be successful.

There is definitely a lot to learn when starting out Colin!
As with any new endeavour, take things at a pace you are comfortable with, learn as much as you can and implement what you have learnt!
You are building a business for the future my friend!
Hi Colin, I understand. Everyone starts out doing things wrong as a newbie; that is normal. I learned the hard way. You can delete the hub and create a different hub with your domain name. If you bought that domain with your credits, you must keep that domain name. You won't lose your domain name until next year, when you have to pay for it. If you want a new domain name, you must purchase one at SiteDomain. I bought four domains, dropped one, and now have three. Only using one right now, the other two will be built in my hubs later on. You will lose your hosting as long as you stay a paid member. You can delete your hubs; all you need to do is go to hubs, delete it, go to SiteManager, then click details, remove the website, your domain name will still be there, then go back to the hubs and start over with the existing domain. It's as simple as that.
There's definitely a learning curve, Colin. Be patient with yourself. It's a lot of trial and error and just working your way through the lessons and applying the knowledge. Keep up the great work!
Susan
I saw some of your posts asking for help. I hope it gets easier for us both. I've been putting in like 16 hour days the past 4 days. Lol. Thanks for your response. Have a good week! Don't give up!

Getting started isn't the easiest thing to do. I can't tell you how many times I deleted and started all over when I was first beginning. I still continuously learn new things. It is an ongoing learning process, for me at least. But it does get easier. You, too, will get there. And, sometimes, in the beginning, it is easier to delete and start all over.
