Impact Of Plugins On Site Health

How essential Is EWWW Image Optimizer to your website?

We are normally advised that we should not have more than five plugins; recently I have watched the rating of my plugins dropped below 5o%.

I assume this could have some bearing on your overall site health` Some members have commented that one should not be too concerned about the number of plugins but some experts disagree

There are 9 plugins on one of the ` websites, The only one that cast a shadow of doubt was EWWW Image Optimizer;

How essential is that plugin? I do not recall when the plugin was introduced; but It would appear it was chosen by WA.

It is my understanding that site health is managed inside WA, Does this rating have any bearing on outside forces, such as SEO for example.

Please lets hear from the voices of experience.

I hope your week was as productive as mine; do enjoy your weekend, and may the best team and the best players win.

Hi Courtney, always found this to be an interesting topic.

There are strong supporters on both side of the Isle.

Which is good for democracy!

Courteney, Enjoyed this post, thanks for shahring. I actually wrote a WA community blog post on this very topic, which will go some way to answer your question. You can read it on my profile.

Thank you will check it out.posting the link might help others.

Glad it helped

Thanks for sharing, Courtney.

Sorry Courtney the image compressor is not the right one it should be www.imageoptimizer.net. It has no padlock but I haven't had any issues and I know other members use this as well.

Did I write image compressor? I thought I wrote Optimizer.

No, I did. I meant to write imageoptimizer.com, not imagecompressor.com - imagecompressor.com is the wrong link I sent in a previous comment.

I use Tinypng tinypng.com, I find it works better than EWWW. You can compress images up to 5 MB for free. If the size of the picture is more than 5 MB you can first optimize the image with image optimizer https://imagecompressor.com/.

You may also want to use a plugin I found yesterday through WordPress. It is called P3 plugin Performance.
Download this plugin and it will tell you which plugins are taking up the most space. After you find out just deactivate it.

With my scenario, Woocommerce and its associated plugins my biggest users. I have included a chart below on my site's plugins.

Of all the plugins , I would keep EWWW Image optimizer and All in one SEO.

Mike

Is it installed by WA.I have a new site Rubix demo site and The 2 plugins automatically installed are All in one SEO and image optimizer
