A good friend of mine's daughter vanished yesterday.

No note. No signs of anything amiss. No family fights. No boyfriend. No indication on any of her social media. Her cell phone is turned off.

She's just GONE!

As a parent, I can't begin to imagine anything worse. Yet I know there are thousands of parents around the world who face this scenario each day.

San Antonio is a big hub for human traffickers and coyotes. Police have found more than a few 'safe houses' in the area and last summer, a trucker abandoned a semi at a local store. Unfortunately, it was full of people, all of whom perished in the extreme heat having been locked in the truck with no way out.

I'm sure there's a logical explanation and she's hanging outmiss at a friends house that her parents don't know about, watching movies and eating pizza. Oh how I pray that is what's going on.

Seeing the look of sheer panic in my friend's face and looking into her tear-swollen eyes, seeing the look of worry in her husband is breaking my heart. Her brothers are completely in shock that their sister has disappeared and they don't know where or why. All I could do is make dinner for them and continue to share with friends in the area, hoping that somebody I know might have seen the daughter.

If you live in the San Antonio, Texas or central Texas area, please check my FB page - Christine McGavran Ketay. Mary's picture is there with a post that can be shared with other friends in the area. Somebody has seen her. Somebody knows where she is.

And, while I generally wouldn't share something like this, I really like much more upbeat, encouraging and relevant posts, personally. But in this case, I'm making an exception.

I know that the power of prayer is extremely strong. And I figure with 2m members - probably 250,000 who are currently active, literally around the world, that that's a whole bunch of prayers that could be said for Mary to be found safe. If you would be so kind to join me in prayer for Mary's safe return, I would be most grateful.

Christine

Sorry to hear this. There was a truck in England that had the same thing happen.

I hope she is okaii, part of me feels that she is safe at a friends house. I wish everyone all the health and happiness and she is found safe.

I used to just go offline and didnt speak to my mum that much when I was 18 and spoke to her maybe once a month, if that.

All the loves

She's safe and back with her family ☺️

Thanks so much! It was a terrible few days! Mary has since returned home, safe and sound. A friend dropped her off at her family's church, Sunday afternoon. Prayers answered!!!! Thank you so much for your support!

Christine

I'm so happy that she is safe! I hope she has been showered with love and that she knows she can be open enough to let everyone know anything she may be having troubles with! :)

Thank you, sorry for late reply. I'm awful with how the notifications work still! So glad she is safe!

Thanks. We are too! I appreciate your taking time to check in. Have a great weekend! Christine

You too! :)

Christine,
I cannot imagine the fear and helplessness this family is experiencing. As a friend, you are doing them a great service just by being there and getting the word out. Mary and her family have my prayers. I look forward to your follow up post stating that she is safe and sound at home.

Thanks, Glenn. I sincerely hope that I can update everybody with a happy ending to this. Your prayers are most greatly and gratefully appreciated! Christine

Hi Christine,
I am both happy and sad at the same time. Great and insightful post! And it is nice to talk and exchange with you again. It seems that you have missed out on my posts. Please take a look at you next opportunity.

On the other hand, I am sorry about the vanishing situation happened to your friend. I hope that she can be found soon enough, so that joy can be back in the entire family. I am so sorry about that.

Sincerely yours,

Charles

Oh Christine - how awful. I can’t begin to imagine what they’re going through or how they’re handling this. I didn’t like hitting the “like” button on this and did so only in my support of you. Mary will be in my prayers and I will keep my fingers crossed and am sending positive thoughts to you, Mary and her family 🙏🏻🤞😔

Christine, my thoughts and prayers got out to your friend and their daughter in hopes for a safe return home.

I couldn't even imagine something like this happening in my family.

I heard about the trucker who left all those people to die in that heated compartment. Such a sin a a tragedy.
