Help - What do I do?
Hi Everybody:
Chris here - www.poocharama.com. During the past 7 months, I have written around 47 posts and 60,000 words on this site.
About a month ago, I decided to change course a bit and spend my time finding out all I could about SEO. Here’s what I’ve found.
First, I’m in a niche that has way too many big authority sites. I have also found that these sites rank high for just about every keyword imaginable.
So, how can I possibly compete with this?
What I conclude is that you can write to your heart’s content but if no one can find you, there’s no money and therefore no point.
Here’s the thing. I’m a hard worker and am willing to put in the time and effort to reach my goals. However, I don’t want to do all that work for nothing. I feel everything is going down the “rabbit hole.”
So, the question is, should I forge on and keep adding content until which time www.poocharama becomes a big, authority site? (If so, is there some magic number of posts and/or words needed to achieve this?) Or, should I switch to a less competitive niche (if there is such a thing?)
Thank you.

I think that so many niches are very competitive but here is
one thing you must think of are all of them seriously going
to continue to post new content all the time and if they do which
I do not think they will then eventually you are going to end up
the authority on the page within the niche ::))
Many of the possible site niches are very busy with many people writing on them. For this reason alone, I would carry on with the niche.
Because there are so many people already in the niche there must be people out there that want to get information on the niche.
Ok, all the top keywords have gone so try and be a little obtuse in your keyword search.

Reading this has totally discouraged me. I am in the same niche basically. Dog training. I hope you are wrong and we both can make something of ourselves in this area, I hope someone else comments with some advice.
Best to you,
Joanne
Oops - I didn't mean to discourage you! It's just that I've put so much work into this and I'm frustrated.
I like your niche because it's much more focused than mine!
Hi Chris, I am in the dog niche as well. I agree that it is a very saturated niche with tough competition. Maybe you could try to narrow your niche down further. Not sure if that might help.
