My recent indexing success with Google
Is anyone still trying to find a way to get Google to index their site/posts? The reason I ask is because I stumbled upon something the other day that I found interesting... The article is called, "How to Get Google to Instantly Index Your New Website". It's a lengthy article, but loaded with interesting and useful information. I decided to implement the advice, and was pretty suprised with the result.
Backstory: I've been with WA for less than a month, and the website in question has only had content in it since the last couple days of October. One of my posts was indexed with Google, then nothing happened afterwards. Did I do something wrong? Am I too new? Is it because I've only posted four blog articles so far? What's happening, or not happening and why? So, off to do research to try and understand Google and its operating practices (I really know very little about anything related to computers and the internet).
As I said, I stumbled upon this article and decided to implement the lessons being offered. That was Friday evening, and I finished around 10pm, after swearing up a storm... Long story short, two more of my articles had been indexed by 4:30pm today. That's less than 24 hours to see a 200% increase! Was this magic, voodoo, or did my efforts pay off? I don't know enough about this interweb thingamabob yet to be sure, but if anyone else wants to know what I did, check this website and give it a try!

I'd love to know if anyone else has similar success, or if it was mere coincidence.
Thanks, and best of luck!

I ran into the same problem when I was starting out. A couple of indexed posts in about a week, then nothing for a looong time.
I managed to get some good results working with the Google Search Console after someone suggested it to me. That combined with a Sitemap dramatically increased the speed with which Google indexed my posts.
I'm with you on the interweb thingambob, the stuff that goes on in the background is so complicated. Thankfully those in the know give us tools that we can use.
Keep putting up good content. The Google Indexing is a starting point for what is to come if you build the content on your site.
I did the quiz and it told me that there was a 92% chance I could better my results with Google. Looks like I have lots of room to grow. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the reply! And yes, I also did the Google Search Console, and sitemap. Now, more content!
Right on.
I got an email with the "cheat sheet". I'll be taking a look at what they suggest to see how I can implement it. Indexing is one thing and ranking is another (and my ranking is still quite low). But you can't rank if you don't get indexed. Glad to hear you are making progress. Keep it going.
