I thought I'd change the plan slightly and start with a short teaser to introduce this mini blog series :-) Also, apologies for the delay in getting this one out there, I didn't expect to land in the Top 200 earlier this week, so I've been busy responding to notifications, and talking with new followers :-)

Here's a true story

When American Astronauts first went in to space, they quickly discovered that their pens stopped working in zero gravity. So NASA kicked off a project, to invent a writing instrument, that would work in outer space. After they spent millions of dollars and burnt thousands of man-hours, on research and engineering, they came up with the "Pump Pen", that could write anything, anywhere and at any angle.

Meanwhile, during this, in the secret laboratories, behind the Iron Curtain, Soviet Union Scientists casually took note of their American counter parts research. They pretty much spent no time and no money trying to solve this problem. Why? Because they already had the answer. Their Cosmonauts used pencils :-)

Take this away with you

If you don't take anything else away from this mini series, I would like you to remember this little story, as you proceed with your goal of becoming a great marketer, regardless of what it is that you sell.

A lot of people spend thousands of pounds/dollars, and six years or so in college, whilst getting a marketing degree, and maybe even an MBA from Oxford or Harvard, to only find themselves working for a huge corporation, where they end up doing "the same old thing" every day, that the rest of the world are doing in relation to marketing and selling.

I want to tell you this though, you do not need an MBA to be an excellent marketeer. All you need is this mini blog series! I'm actually being serious, I'm going to show you what they don't tell you at Oxford or Harvard. I'm going to show you how you can find customers by the thousands, along with delivering high impact marketing messages to them.

Albert Einstein said: "Sometimes it takes a genius to see the obvious".

I'm definitely no Einstein, but I think you'll feel very similar as I reveal some of these sales and marketing strategies to you throughout the course of this mini blog series. It'll be that "Why didn't I think of that" moment, when you see something simple, direct and a workable strategy, that will make things happen for your business.

This mini series isn't just for Affiliate Marketing, this is for anyone interested in marketing online or even offline, for brick and mortar types businesses. This is for dentists, carpenters, plumbers, recruitment agencies, insurance brokers, toy retailers, hairdressers and even beekeepers ;-)

Anyone can pick this up, follow along and apply the ideas and strategies, to make big things happen for their business in terms of making money and having an awesome time whilst doing it!

I'm going to show you where you can find loads of customers, where you would never have thought to have looked before, along with telling them exactly what they need to know, in order to convert them into paying customers/clients and to keep them coming back again and again!

My goal for you, is to not only become an awesome marketeer, but that you get passionate about marketing, and about working with people in order to make their lives better. By selling great products and amazing services, all whilst you earn a healthy profit in doing so. Because none of this is important, if you're not also having fun along the way.

All businesses, doesn't matter what product or service they're offering or selling, are in the marketing and sales business! The purpose of all businesses, is to gain and retain customers, so that they make money. It's plain and simple! That goes for grocers to accountants and tyre retailers to lawyers.

The marketing and sales business, in fact, all business, is the people business! At the end of the day, you need to remember, to treat people right and offer them something that will solve their problems, along with fulfilling their wants and needs.

You win, they win, and that's what it's all about!

Are you ready to get started? Watch out for my next post over the next few days, which I will also place a link to here, as soon as it is ready.

Hello Chrystopher! Hope you're doing great! I'm still navigating my way in this Affiliate Marketing thing and one thing that I do to make myself learn and be familiar with it is searching and going through trainings and posts published by the WA community members. I found your posts really helpful.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge to all of us!

Have a wonderful day! 😊

Rose

You’re welcome Rose :-)

Hi Chrystopher,

Thank you very much for this very interesting article. Congratulations on your WA ranking of 200. Good work and I know you're helping a lot of members (me included).

I agree, we have to have fun and enjoy what we are doing. It's much easier when we have a niche we're passionate about doing and already an authority over it. I know for me, I love talking about scuba diving (need to get back to my dive site this year) and I love telling people all about affiliate marketing, benefits, and the ability to earn a healthy income.

We have to enjoy helping people, that's what life is about. You said it right on... about treating people with respect. We are in the business to help people solve their needs and their desires.

I look forward to your mini-series.

Monica

Thank you Monica, really appreciated :-)

Hi Chrystopher!

No apology is needed for the timing of this article - at least you have a good reason! Achieving Top 200 in such a short amount of time is unheard of however, it is only the result of a LOT of work in a short amount of time! Congratulations!

This post was such an enjoyable read - I can't wait to read the others in this series!

Your statement, "... treat people right and offer them something that will solve their problems, along with fulfilling their wants and needs" pretty much says it all.

It reminds me of a neighbor of mine from many years ago who was also our town mayor and successful businessman. He once told me he would like to write a book one day to teach people how to run a business and it would have only one chapter - customer service. He always attributed his success to how he treated others.

I would say you are traveling along that same path!

Susan

Thank you Susan, that's really appreciated.

And yes, I have to agree, just a single chapter would say it all :-)

My very first, proper, IT job, was when I was 19. I was working on the 1st Line English Help Desk for Unilever, and I had this colleague sat opposite me, and every single call he had, ended up in an argument with the customer. For myself though, I never once got in to a heated debate. I actually got sent 10 Ben & Jerry's ice cream vouchers once (don't tell anyone, we weren't allowed to accept gifts haha). But it's ALL about Customer Service, and how you treat others.

How you treat them, determines how they treat you.

And you're probably right, the fact that I've got up to the Top 200 in six weeks, is actually more proof of that. If the help I have provided wasn't relevent or helpful, then other members wouldn't have liked my comments. Without likes, you don't really move anywhere here. So it is all a side effect of just having that urge to help others and to be treated the way you want to be treated.

That's where the True Pay it Forward Community comes to life :-)

Great idea

Thank you :-)

I remember back in the dark ages when Papermate marketed their "biros" by saying their pens wrote in space.....funny that because none of their customers where ever going there!🤔😂😂
Good post Chrystopher, looking forward to your mini series.
Mark

haha yes, I remember that as well, and you never know, comercial travel to space could be sooner than we think ;-)

I think I'll stave off the temptation to join Messrs Branson, Musk and Bezos......rather fond of terra firma to be honest😉👍
