The Small Habits That Keep Your Business Moving

Hi all!!

I have noticed something over the years since I have been a member of WA. And that is the things that keep your online business moving forward are not always the big tasks.

A lot of the time, I find that it is the smaller things that you repeat without even thinking about them.

As an example, I like to check on my website for a couple of minutes each day. Okay nothing major I know, but I just look to make sure everything loads properly, and sometimes I see something that needs fixing.

It is a simple habit that I have gotten into, but it keeps me on top of things.

Another thing that helps me is writing down my ideas the moment they come. If I wait, I always forget them. Even a note in my phone saves me a lot of time later on when I am sitting down to write. It makes things a lot easier because I am not starting with a pen and paper in my hand and nothing in my head.

I also take a few minutes each day to look around the WA community. I will admit that I do not always comment or get involved, but sometimes reading what others are working on keeps me thinking.

Sometimes I learn something new, and other times it reminds me of something that I have been putting off in my own business.

Something else that helps me is going back over my older content now and then. It is hard for me to make complete rewrites all the time, but I do make small improvements if something stands out. I have found that those fast edits have helped, especially when I have noticed things wrong with my Meta Titles and Descriptions!

All of this does not take me too long, and that is really good for me, because even on days when I am really busy writing my content, I can still do a little bit extra.

You do not need hours. Just some small steps that keep you connected to your business.

When you pile all these little extras together, your writing gets easier, your ideas keep flowing and you can stay consistent without trying too hard.

So if you ever feel like you are not doing enough, look at the small things you already do. They all matter. They build up quietly, and over time you will see how much progress comes from your simple daily actions.

So these are some of the things that have helped me, but what about you? Do you have any small habits that help you keep things moving along?

Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone!

Chris

Thank you for this great post! I absolutely write any new idea on my iPhone notebook and take action. I also make things to do on a daily basis. The whole idea is to take imperfect action in a daily basis. Thank you again!

Hey! Really great reminder! Thanks! Sometimes small things just help you move forward. Even if not publishing new posts, those small changes can help, and some may not be as small as they seem. About fully rewriting old posts, I cannot do it either, just making small changes then and there.

I have just set myself some daily targets.

On the days that I work, I have set myself simple goals during breaks. Such as keyword research during lunch. Brainstorming or creating social posts during my afternoon break.

In the evenings, I am trying to come up with at the very least an outline of a blog post for my site.

I am hoping that these small steps will make the days I have time off will be more efficient as I will have a starting point to build from.

Hey thanks for getting in touch...

They do all help for sure... I work full time too, and my brain is always here in one way or another... I am always doing little things here and there to make my life easier when I finally get to sit down at my computer and get on with things.

I think it is important to do what you are doing, and have a plan.. goals... even the small ones add up over time!

Thanks and nice to hear from you!
