There's Much I Want to Know, So I Wrote a Little Blog

I have watched some live videos about Google Search Console, but I still have questions. Over the last year I found Google Search Console and Analytics a litle intimidating and I haven't used it much in the last months. Today, I checked it again and I intend to be more active there on a regular basis.

The numbers, though ... I do not understand. For example, when logging on to my author website via websites in the left side bar, there is a blue line and it states that site health is doing great, but in Google Search Console I have only 124 impressions over the last 3 months. I don't think that that's "great", or am I wrong? (I started this website in April or May 2019) According to Google Analytics I have 81 active users over 14 days.

And now, oh my God! I just looked at the info on Google Search Console for my first website, which I set up in march 2019 when I joined Wealthy Affiliate, and I nearly fell off my chair. 75 clicks and 3.35K impressions. 3.35K is ... wow, I can't believe it, and that website is marked as "site health is improving" when I log in via websites in the WA side bar. CTR is a little low perhaps, or how should I interpret that number?

In Google Adsense I made 82.93 Mexican pesos which is roughly a little over $4US, and I am happy that some money is coming in :-). Affiliate sales, nothing yet ... but I am getting clicks. I know that sales may take time, and the most important thing is to focus on building my bases for my websites. I was going to focus on my author website because I thought that that one was doing the best, but it looks like I should be focusing on my first website, seeing the amount of impressions I got there.

Now, another question, SEO, three letters that are still mystifying me, and I sometimes feel like Harry Potter sticking his wand out but not quite getting the right spell (or should that be Ron? ;-) )
Yesterday I already got some great info and this morning too. But what else can I do to improve SEO? What I have so far: website comments, research keywords (low-hanging fruit), review competitor's websites, use Google Search Console. I also use Twitter a lot, Twitter seems to be working out the best for me.

So, what else could I do for SEO? Are there any more recommendations? Even though my questions may seem repetitive, I am determined to improve my traffic and SEO, and that is why I keep on asking ;-)

All this is too much for the "ask a question" function on WA, so there you go, I wrote a blog with my questions. :-) Thanks in advance for any tips and advice :-)

Sounds like you are doing the right things with your first site. Just keep finding the low hanging fruit and write content around them. Content is King.

Cheers,

Michael

Thanks! Yes, I'll keep writing content. I already have ideas for two new articles ;-)

Christine, I'm not an expert, by far not, but I think the results you are showing for such a young website are great. I don't think you can do much more if you don't want to pay for clicks. If you are adding content and getting comments, it will improve a lot in time, I'm sure!

Hi Lenka, thank you. I'll keep on doing that then. Maybe I was being too hard on myself ;-)

Hope you get some answers, Christine!

Jeff

Seems to me you are doing all you can. Maybe someone will have a better idea
Joe

Thank you, perhaps I'm too hard on myself ;-)

I admit I use it, don't understand it completely, so find people that do wiser than me! 👏
