SPAM! It's the Cadillac of meats.

You might find this odd, but I like SPAM. I think it gets a bad rap. If you compare its ingredient list to a hot dog's you might find find yourself very surprised. In fact, it probably has one of the shortest ingredient lists in the entire supermarket at a whopping six. And yet hot dogs are considered a staple of a backyard cookout, at least here in the US, but everybody shuns SPAM.

Did you know that SPAM is actually an acronym? It stands for "Shoulders of Pork And Ham"? Well at least according to the company, but nobody really knows for certain where the name comes from. Wiki sites one source of the name might be "Special Processed American Meat".

So far Asians seem to like it best and you can even find it on the McDonald's menu in Hawaii. Over 7 billion cans of SPAM have been sold.

SPAM should, however, be enjoyed in moderation. While its ingredient list is short, it does contain sodium nitrate (a big healthy eater's no no) as well as sugar. It also is a bit heavy on the fat content for me (and should be for anyone else too). But it's not worse for you than, say, pepperoni or salami. Moderation, folks!

Now, while I love the Cadillac of meats (SPAM), I'm not so fond of a different kind of spam. I hate unsolicited advertisements. We seem to have been getting quite a few of those by way of rogue, nefarious blog posts here at Wealthy Affiliate the past few days.

I'm not sure what sparked the uptick in spammish blog posts here, but I just want to give you good peoples the fair warning. If someone is advertising a product here, they are breaking the rules and code of conduct we all agreed to when we created our accounts. This means one of two things. They are either naive or dishonest. I would not follow either into any business venture. So please, folks, don't support the spammers.

So enjoy a nice fried SPAM sandwich on rye with a touch of yellow mustard, but don't partake in a link to someone's sales funnel from WA. Any product that would allow itself to be advertised like that (someplace it's not supposed to be) is about worth horse feathers in my book. I'll go as far as to say that type of spam is a scam.
