For starters, is this a site on your profile that I can get to? If not PM me the url so I can take a look.
The answer to the first one is yes for sure. The answer to the second one is probably.
Also for the second one go look at Appearance-> widgets in your dashboard and see if it has one called "Footer" or something similar
The url for this site is http://snowboardiing.siterubix.com/ . Right now I just have filler images inside the slider, so it looks a little rough. It may still not look good with the space put in, but I wanted to try it to see if I could make it work. And also I've just been wondering in general if there's a way to get to the code in wordpress, cause some things are just easier to code yourself ya know? If you get a chance to take a look at it I would greatly appreciate it!
So, you can get a plugin that will let you add css to your header. I don't have one to recommend but if you just do a search you should be able to find one. The code you want to add is
<style>
#welcomesection {
padding: 45px 0 0 0;
}
</style>
That is actually what it is now, so once you add that just keep increasing the 45 until you get the spacing you want.
I'm definitely not an expert at it. I studied some web design in college which encompassed basic html, css, and using software such as adobe dreamweaver. I don't know anything too advanced though
Awesome! Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate your time. If there's anything I can do to help you out in the future let me know!

When I type my url into google the home title and description of another site come up, but when I click on it I am taken to my site. My site manager says my site is not indexed
Give it time, when Google indexes your site, your site will be seen initially. This just means that the previous site was indexed, as long as the link directs to your site, it's all good.
