Adsense vs Amazon Associates ?
Fellow WAers. I have a question for you today.
I've recently been experimenting with placing ad banners inside the content on my pages and posts.
I'm curious to know what you think will work best?
Right now I'm doing Adsense (only because I set a goal to get a cheque from Adsense in 2015 lol) but I kinda feel Amazon banners will get more profit per click.
Let me know of your thoughts and experiences below. I'd highly appreciate it.
Thanks
Chris Lee
PS: I'm about $40 in Adsense so I'm less than half way there to get my cheque from Adsense haha!

I'm going to add my few cents extra here, because I've just taken google adsense off my site. I have a deals site and it is new and I don't have a lot of experience selling but here's my basic stats. I'm finding adsense tends to pick up on the products I have on my site and advertise them, which means they will get the revenue. Affiliate payments are more than adsense so I don't really want that. I've only made 42c with adsense but sold 6 items on Amazon in 4 months. Banner ads get only a few clicks and no revenue. I get an average of 500 pageviews a day. if you're doing a niche site your advertising should be more effective. Personally I think adsense is only worth putting on a website that's getting around 100,000 visitors a day, and anyone I read about making money with it has that kind of traffic. I would rather use that prime space ie amazon banner ads in post which is where I made a sale as soon as it took adsense off. Amazon is the highest earning/selling and most trusted site on the web so at least you know what you're presenting to your customers.
Amazon affiliate revenue is better because they will pay out every 90 days at a threshold of $10.00 or more and because the shopping cart cookie is active for 48 hours you can generate other random sales through the same user. AdSense can pay you monthly with the $100 threshold it's just that clicks have lessened due to ad-roll where ads appear already for sites that they have visited so the click through is less.
The way I understand is that you get paid per click with adsense, you only get paid if someone actually buys something on amazon within 24 hrs. the stats of people actually buying are pretty low, unless you're promoting or reviewing the product. it's very quick and easy to sign up with amazon, prob the best way is to try it out.
Yeah, I heard adsense has some advantages. I need to know if you can have links on your site directing people to Amazon without an affiliate link account with them ? I believe you can, not sure............................Scotty B ♫
No, you have to establish an affiliate relationship with Amazon. Then you will be given a site with which to get custom links that tag you as the referral to anyone who clicks on the links and goes to Amazon thru your site.
