I need to add a PDF to my root directory for verification. I do not know how to even access my root directory. I found my FTP username and password but I have no idea what to do

Marion's video here explains it quite simply.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-submit-your-website-to-google-yahoo

you can use FTP program like Filezilla.
it's easy to use. set your ftp id and password into it.
then you can upload your file in your website.

How to upload to root directory for site verification?

Chelseak, i had the same question..thanks for already asking

Aha! So that's where I went wrong. Emerald860, you've just relieved me of some major stress, even if you did tell chelseak 5 months ago. I'm really glad I joined WA instead of going it alone.

Hi Chelseak. Open your post as if you are going to edit the post and scroll down to the bottom until you see the SEO information. This is where you add that information. You do have to add it yourself. I'm presuming you are using the All-in-One SEO plugin?

emerald OMG, i had no idea all that info was to be added..i need to go back and complete for all my posts...Thank you for the info.

No worries, Frank! I've had to do the same thing. Alanna

some of the other posts said we leave everything alone and it does it for you. kyle said in a video lesson to just leave it. i left it and it says there no seo title etc. another post said we dont put any keywords in the seo ever or it sees it as key word stuffing. does it only add everything by itself if you upgrade to seo pro pack?

Hi rbahri. The training that Kyle has created has you install the All-in-1 SEO plugin. The All-in-1 SEO plugin is added so that you can put in a meta title, meta description and at least one of the keywords you are using in your article. There's a big debate on whether or not you need tags which you can add to the right side of the screen just above the feature image. If you notice after you create an article and scroll down, you will probably see a meta title and meta description but you will not see any keywords or tags. By default, the meta title auto generates from the title of the blog. The meta description grabs the first few lines of your first paragraph up to around 160 characters.

Many people, including myself, type in the meta title (even though it appears in gray). I also type in my own meta description. This allows me to further target my audience and I ALWAYS put in one keyword and 2 tags.

There are different opinions as to whether tags are effective or not. My opinion is that it doesn't hurt and if it helps to get a better ranking, all the better.

I hope this helps. Sorry I'm so long winded! Happy Easter!

Alanna

thanks!

No worries, rbahri!

I have linked my account both ways but my picture is not showing up next to my link when I use the rich snippet tool. I tried using a specific page instead of my home page and

It will not show up anymore on the tool as they have discontinued using pics for everything but your G+ account.

Oh, OK. On the tutorial kyles picture showed up when he tested it. Maybe its an older video?

I have heard that from others, how old is the video? When was it posted?

Not sure, but the format of WA is a little different so probably at least several months?

DO you have a link for it?

Thank you, I actually did watch that and it was very helpful. I think I understand where to find them and how to add to posts and pages. It is more setting the images on my homepage that I can't seem to manage. Would they be cover images?
