Dear WA Community,

I am not able to change the meta description in WordPress. Any reasons why?

Thank You.

Check your All In One SEO settings. It's probably rewriting it (not the settings in a page or post but he actual plugin settings).

That is a good suggestion. I remember at one point AIO let you manually set the meta for the main homepage.

Thanks for your kind response. I checked the settings, still unable to figure out what is wrong.

OK...when you say you are unable to change it...where are you trying to change it? Is there a field that's dimmed out or something?

Well, I go to 'Edit Post' on WordPress and then I see an option below the editable text window where I am supposed to be able to change it (please see image).

OK and when you type in that window does it change?

Nope. I can't even highlight the text!

You shouldn't be able to highlight the text but you should be able to click in there and type.

If not, let me know.

Now it's working! Thanks a lot for your kindness! Really appreciate it! :)

Glad to hear you're good to go!

Dear WA Community,

Can I use any image on the internet and give credit below the image and safeguard myself from copyright infringement?

Thank You.

Not a good idea, images are not like using someones words.

Hey!

I just got to know from someone who has been an affiliate marketer for several years that if you give credit there would not be any issues. He said he had been doing it for quite some time.

As long as nobody is making money right, but once you start making money then watch out, it seems everyone comes knocking at your door, so beware.

Hmm yeah..good point. Thank You.

You can try, but you will leave yourself wide open to being sued. Jim

Hmm..then better not.

Thanks a lot!

No you can’t, you have to check each images Copyright, any Licenses and seek their Permission before using an image.

It is always safer to take/create your own images or to find Royalty Free images on Stock Image Library’s.

OK got it!

Thanks a lot!

Dear WA Community,

I understand that my website should gain some traction before I start reviewing products and placing my affiliate links within those reviews.

T

I tend to write on a notepad all my ideas on products (I use) and can share with others my own personal experience as well as how the product is ranked on the purchase site. I haven't gone as far as you have yet, but it is good to know what is coming up.

Hey Lisa,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

When I got to the part in the training to add affiliate links,
I felt I didn’t have enough posts, I stopped the training added
12 more posts and then continued.

Oh wow! That's a very pragmatic move! I guess I should do the same.

Thanks a lot!

If you keep following the training, it will take you through everything step-by-step! Make sure to complete the tasks at the end of each lesson. You will have it all set up in no time!

Hey Elise,

Yeah I agree. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!

As Elise mentioned, keep following the training. You're in level 3 now, it seems. In this level you will learn about adding affiliate networks and programs along with the links necessary. Keep pushing, you're doing great!

Hi Joseph,

Thanks a lot for your kind remarks!

Warm Regards,
Anushka.

Hi Anushka. This is not an exact science and views vary on this question but most here would, I think, agree that you should get a few purely informational posts up first, and then when you start to get some traffic, start adding some reviews with affiliate links. It's not a question of waiting a certain period of time, but just until you get some traffic. After all, without traffic, you are not going to sell anything anyway.
Colette and Philip

Hi Colette & Philip,

Thanks a lot for the valuable insights! Yes, what you are saying makes sense. No traffic, no sales.

Warm Regards,
Anushka.

It's great that you are prepared to be patient. Many new members here tend to rush forward at this point.
Good luck.
Colette and Philip

Yes I agree 100 %

Frankly, I wanted to rush it too, but now I've taken a step back. The biggest challenge most people have to overcome is changing their mindset from that of an employee's to an entrepreneur's.

Thanks a lot for your thoughts and best of luck to you too!

You can start now reviewing products and joining affiliate programs and just keep building up your content and your reviews on your products your selling and you will start to see sales

OK cool! Thanks a lot Dorrie!

Dear WA Community,

I have been thinking, even though the affiliate commission rates of amazon are lower compared to some other affiliate programs, will amazon affiliate

I also tend to think of the smaller "online businesses" that need traffic for items that Amazon and Wal-Mart do not sell. Going green products...specialty items. Connecting with other businesses and finding out how their traffic has been. You do business with them anyways (boosting their traffic-incentive in working with them)

Cool! That's a different perspective and something I never thought of! Thank You!

That is what we are here for. Networking and connecting 2 worlds. Real physical world with the online- we are what we sell-

Yes Anushka,

That is some people's thinking in the matter of Amazon's affiliate percentages being lowered; that with so many people now "jumping ship" there will be more pie for those who remain with Amazon.

Having said that... only time will tell if that proves to be the case... or not.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Triblu,

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts! I guess some people are still skeptical about this whole e-commerce thing. So site reputation matters I reckon.

Warm Regards,
Anushka.
