I used to have a blog on Wix and although not a ton of people seem to be huge fans of Wix, I looove the customization options. I'm huge on aesthetics and am a bit of a perfecti
I also prefer Wordpress because it has the bandwith to support a full-fledged blog, with your content, all your pages and your posts.
For a blog, I would suggest that you stick with Wordpress and try to make it work.
If you want to be able to customize your posts and pages more, I would recommend that you install a plug-in called Elementor. It's free and it will help you greatly add more appeal and attractiveness to your posts and pages.

Wix can only be used on the Wix platform. WordPress can be used on any hosting environment.
I prefer all the things WordPress offers and it has great plugins to use and make all sorts of amazing things happen on my website

WordPress is really versatile, the new gutenburg will be a massive step towards achieving better control over the look - MarionBlack has got some great training on WordPress and the new Gutenburg editor. might be worth checking out some of her training. You can also achieve a number of aspects with plugins too.
