Hello, Friends!

I am updating you from downtown Princeton, British Columbia.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/princeton-fl...

I regret to inform you our town has been devastated by a major flooding event. We have been through a tremendous 3 days of rain, landslides and mudflow. The impact of floodwaters and debris has cut us off from neighbouring cities and product supply chains have been severed.

It all started Saturday night around 8 pm. Unusual precipitation was expected in the forecast along with a "pineapple express". We heard the Tulameen river was higher than normal. An hour later it had broken its banks and was surging towards Princeton. It all happened within hours; we didn't have time to react.

Even though our home and office is located downtown, I am extremely grateful to report that the high-water line crested half way up the driveway, then stopped. Our home and the home each side of us formed an island and we were spared. It's a miracle!

Although many residents here just lost everything, nobody is homeless. I am humbled to see how this community has pulled together, assembling volunteers and emergency supplies, and looking after one another.

It is cold today, around -8C. It is snowing. Gas and water are shut off. But I want you all to know that we are ok - we are a tight knit community and we will get through this.

Please send your thoughts and prayers to the other communities in BC who have been marrooned (Hope, BC) or forced to evacuate (Merritt and Abbottsford, BC) within the last 24 hours.

Sending my love and best wishes to all of you in the WA community.

WOW, this is really serious, I hope there is enough support and assistance for those whom lost homes or businesses.

Hi Ceri so sorry but one consolation no deaths. Such an impressive scene but with togetherness and unity it will be a thing of the past.

Keep chin up for our Savior is control.

*** hello dear Ceri!

Wow! ... look at all that flooding and high water! ... gosh!

Stunning post!

Yes, indeed, you are ALL heroes and yes, indeed, you will ALL get through this!

So fortunate that the high water stopped up halfway to your driveway!

May fast restorations take place for everyone who's been affected by this situation.

We are here for you as moral support as our thoughts & prayers are with you!

Blessings to your entire community for warmth and safety.
