Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
As I sit here and write this message to my Wealthy Affiliate family I can hear the rumblings of a thunder storm in the distance. Christmas in Australia is a hot and joyous time where all the shops close for a whole day and people get to spend quality time with their loved ones. As we swelter in the tropical heat and humidity of my Darwin home, longing for that storm to give us some relief - my thoughts move to the other parts of the world where a white Christmas is possible. I have recently thought how magical it would be to visit a place far away from the Australian outback and experience all the beauty and magic of waking up to snow on Christmas Day, opening presents by a open fire with friends and family. It has got me thinking that I would love to hear from fellow WA members of their traditions and experiences at this time of year. And on that note let me take the time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May 2019 take you where ever you lead. I raise my glass and toast you and your family a happy and safe holiday season!

Christene,
I live in the states in Pennsylvania = we did at one time
get snow for Christmas but we have not had any in years
seems all we get now is rain :(
After doing the snow for 60 years you do get tired of it but
there are years that it would be nice to have it for Christmas
and not in March and April LOL
Merry Christmas,
Susan
Thank you for sharing Susan. What a shame it doesn't come at Christmas a little more regularly ;) I not a big fan of the cold, so I can completely understand it would be tiresome, but for an experience it would be awesome! Stay warm and dry this Christmas.
Shoot, I used to get stereotypical Christmases out here in the South West of North America, but it hasn't really snowed all that much the last few years.
I don't know if it's the climate or what, but it's not even that cold over here anymore haha
I bet it's super snowy up in Colorado or Northern New Mexico though, those places are nice.
This year I just worked at a tree selling yard where we got fresh cut Christmas trees from the forests of Oregon and sold em to folks. That was cool.
Oh wow! i would love to experience a fresh Christmas tree. What a cool job that would of been for that time of year! Yes unfortunately climate change is upon us and the weather is so out of sorts everywhere I think from what I hear. Hope you get a white Christmas again soon. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas.

It's always been a dream of mine to have a white Christmas. I know for the people who have snow regularly, it might not be such a big deal, but as you say, in hot Australia, it's not exactly the right climate for it. I went to England one year, hoping for a white Christmas while visiting family there, but lo and behold, it was the mildest winter they'd had in 50 something years. I even had to send home the thick coat I had bought especially for the cold. It was taking up so much room in my suitcase and totally unnecessary so I sent it packing. One day I will go somewhere for the experience. Hopefully WA will help me fulfill that dream. Maybe my best buddy and I, meaning you, lol, can go somewhere together. Merry Christmas my lovely.
Just thinking the same thing!! Lets take our families and go together. We must choose somewhere that has a high odds of snow....maybe the north pole...lol!
Most definitely. Too many places aren't getting snow these days so we will go to one that is a winner!! :)
