I feel so stupid, but where does the Google code for analytical data go?
Top of every page, yes, but where. Can anyone give me an idiot proof diagram, please!

Good question, think that you have the answer below.

It's good to ask questions because it's better to get help than getting stuck and frustrated. All the best.

Hi Colin - the easiest way, if you've activated your All-In-One SEO plugin is to put it in there.

In Wordpress, click on All-In-One SEO (near the top of the menu) then General Settings.

Scroll down until you see Google Analytics ID (or just search for it on the page using Ctrl-F). Put the special number that begines with UA- in the box.

E.g. UA-12345678-2

Scroll to the bottom and click on the Update button.

You don't need all the scripting code from Google, just the UA number.

I couldn't see where to put the code, now you have explained it!
Thank you.
Colin

You're welcome. You should start to see figures on your Analytics Dashboard in the next 48 hours (assuming you're getting visitors - at the very least it should track YOUR visits). :)

Oh - and you shouldn't feel stupid for not knowing how to do something. For some people, what they're learning here is a huge learning curve and that's why Kyle encourages people to ask questions! :)

The learning curve is more like a circle for me, never ending!
Thanks again
Colin

But you are learning Colin, that's the awesome part!! :)

Keep asking those questions.

What great answers you provided him, thanks!!

That's why I love the WA community - people have answered my questions plenty of times. :)

Yes I feel the same!! :)

I have plenty more!
Thanks, Colin

And we have plenty of members to answer them. :)

Google have been in touch, so your advice was spot on, thank you.
