When you change your plans to fit your niche!
For the past 3 and a bit years I have been working in network marketing and only in the lat year joined WA and began to learn about affiliate marketing and blogging. But it only takes a year to totally change your life!
I have been working with a company in the high end skin care sector as my mlm and doing pretty well, however, I have recently started a new blog about being a Grandma refusing to grow old and have been really surprised at how my researching has made me change a few things in the way I am thinking.
Not all Grandmas are glamour grannies, some are regular grannies, still working, and not really interested in what the latest fashion is but they sure can bake the best lemon drizzle cake!
I have decided to change the direction of the blog slightly and cover more lower end products, topics like beauty on a budget and which restaurants offer lunchtime specials etc. This has lead me to rethink my mlm that I am pitching as part of my blog. I have approached a very established cosmetics and gift company that is still amazing quality but at a cheaper and more generally affordable price which I think will suit my readers better. Hopefully this will lead to more clicks and ultimately more sales and revenue.
I guess what I am trying to say is don't always go for the higher end price and products. Yes, you may make an awesome commission but if it only happens once a month then is it worth it? I am finding that the lower priced products are turning over better and creating more interest and people are coming back for more as returning customers. I am also finding that the customers are getting sidetracked once in the online brochure and making additional purchases which is also bumping up the commission.
Fingers crossed for a bumper Christmas :-)

This is basically where I am starting from...lower price items that will sell more often than the bigger ticket choices. I well remember my husband and I living on a bare bones budget, and I know what it is to be in a position to want or need something and to only have a little I could afford to pay for it. Someone who scrapes pennies is not going to read my posts and decide to buy a bigger ticket item no matter how eloquently i write or how much i create in their mindminds a need for that particular item. But give them a good product that does the job and fits their budget and they will buy it and tell their friends all about it!
Best of luck to you!!!
My thoughts exactly Anita, as long as wht I offer is good quality and wont break in 5 minutes or bring them out in a rash, if they get good results with the products then hopefully the referrals will come too. :-)
I think it's important to be adaptable to the needs of your target market. People seem to want to hear about the higher end products in my niche (fragrance) but most aren't willing to pay for them when there are some really great finds at a fraction of the price. Thanks for sharing Cathy!

I know what you mean Erica, people want to hear about high end fashion and what the celebs are wearing, eating and using but no one wants to pay for it :-( So I am researching into copy shops like Shein and FM fragrances so that there is a compromise in the middle somewhere I hope :-)
