My first book for the New Year. 2023, was David Goggins', "Can't Hurt Me".
What a life and what a story!
His life is the classic "pain to possibilities" story and I loved devouring every single word. I could not put the book down.
There are so many lessons that I may well be writing a few more Wealthy Affiliate (WA) blog posts to share my key takeaways.
All the lessons, however, connect to one key learning.
How you start may not be how you finish BUT it all depends on you.
In other words, you are in control and are sitting in the driver's seat.
The thing is, many of us haven't even put the key in the starter (or pressed the start button), let alone moved from park.
We procrastinate and make every excuse we can find to not achieve what we say we want to.
Starting With The Accelerator To Board?
The most common mistake I see though is with those who start off the year at 200 miles per hour and run out of gas before the end of the first quarter of the year.
They have no idea how much fuel is in their tank, they have no reserves, don't know where the pit stops are and have absolutely no clue what direction they are heading in.
That is crazy!
If you are starting with your foot on the accelerator and it is down to board, make sure that you can go the distance.
And remember, there is nothing wrong with having to start over BUT, it may be necessary to Change Your Script, first.

A sprint at the beginning is never a good thing and, I feel, leads to many giving-up. After all, an airplane needs time to build speed and momentum — that’s how we should approach goals and such.

New year new me! I think that is how everyone naturally starts off every year, and often times this is at 200 mph and this velocity can not be a good thing when they arrive on their first road block.
There will be tough times, there will be failures, and there will be pain..that comes with every year and just because a new year has started, doesn't mean it will be void of those moments.
This is a great post here Cassi, we want to operate in a way where we can go the distance and make it out of the year with lots of success, versus getting half with through only to realize you are totally out of fuel! :)
The internet and almost every Social Media platform are abuzz again today with the news that Jacinda Ardern, the New Zealand PM has resigned.
She stated that she no longer has “enough in the tank” to do the job justice.
I cannot help but reflect on how many others are out there with less than enough in their tanks but still chugging along aimlessly.
If we needed a stark reminder, that would be it.
