Keep Your Eye On The End Game
There is an eye for detail and precision that target practice demands. This can also serve you in good stead when you are building your online business.
The core of it relates to keeping your eye on the end game.
Your target is always moving but your skill would be so in tune that you easily adapt. You should never lose sight of your goals and the outcome.
You should also have patience - LOTS of it.
Ours is no "point and shoot" game. It requires deep thought, concentration, a steady hand, consistency and courage.
The Points Guy
I enjoy "looking" around the internet sometimes. That is how I found Nathaniell and Wealthy Affiliate (WA), by the way.
Another interesting blogging success story is Brian Kelly's. He started The Points Guy because of an experience he had when he was 12 years old. His website is devoted to maximizing credit card, airline and hotel loyalty points.
I quote:
[He], "was 12 in 1996 when he booked his first free trip, using his father’s points to arrange for the family of six to vacation in the Cayman Islands. Later, working as a recruiter for an investment bank, he began accumulating his own points for business travel, spending them on annual vacation sprees that so impressed his friends that he earned the nickname The Points Guy.
In 2010, [at age 26 years], he began blogging under the name and, one year later, quit his day job to go full time into points hacking."
Enter Affiliate Marketing
In 2011, a friend who was an Account Manager with LinkShare (Rakuten), told him:
"If you wrote a blog post that got the top Google ranking for, say, 'best nonstick skillet', and put in an affiliate link to the product, you could earn money for every customer you brought in."
A novel idea in 2011. (11 years ago.)
His friend signed him up as a Chase affiliate. He wrote a blog post about the Chase United card.
In his 1st month, he earned $5,000 in affiliate payouts. The next month, he earned $20,000. The month after that, he earned $130,000.
Red Ventures who also own Lonely Planet, acquired 'The Points Guy' in 2017. Brain Kelly was 33 years old.
Since 2010, "The Points Guy" has published over 30,000 blog posts. (An average of 2,500 blog posts a year.)
What Fuels Your Goals?
The point (pun intended) here is to remind you that everything worthwhile has a price. You pay for it in time, patience, determination, sweat, trial and error, money and hard work.
You NEVER give up. If you do, you risk losing your legacy and living your life on your terms.
What you are learning in WA could very well make you the next Affiliate success story.

One of my friends was the first writer The Points Guy hired to do posts. Brian hasn't written any posts in many years now; he farms them all out to writers he trusts, which is perfectly acceptable.
By the way, he is VERY tall! He was a keynote speaker at Affiliate Summit East a few years ago, and we had a picture taken together. I didn't even come up to his shoulder, and I'm 5'6"!

2500 blog posts per year equals 6.8 blog posts per day, that's good going and more than what I do!

He did build out a content team very early on, Roy.
It grew to about 40 people I think.
So, that is only about 60 blog posts per person per year, on average.
I love reading these success stories.
They help to keep me moving on my mission. :-)

Do you know, I believe your last sentence explains how life should be! You're actually enjoying the journey with all the twists and turns along the way! That's a great way to be!
I actually arrived at Wealthy Affiliate over seven years ago, I was already making money online. However, there have been many people who have really focused on the training and taken action, big time! My guess is that many of these focused members probably learned more in a couple of months than what I did in three years! Just because they had the right training and probably more time.
As you know, I have an offline business that keeps me busy, so growing the online business is slower than I would like due to time!
I find it such a pleasure to sit down at my computer and work online! I think some of it is due to the fact that most of the work that I have to do over the years, has been slightly physical, although not so much now! It's also nice not to have to travel anywhere and work from home. I will gradually make it to full time online.
