Today we have some exciting updates at Wealthy Affiliate. We have released our brand new and fully updated website builder which includes new features, a simplified building process, and improved network. This takes building websites at Wealthy Affiliate to a whole new level of SIMPLICITY.
We do the complex “technical” stuff behind the scenes so at the end of the day, building a website is simple, fun and very intuitive by design.
First, to access the new website builder simply click on "Build My Website" from the main menu, then click on "Build a New Website". For those who want to check it out directly, you can do so right here:

Build your Site in 4 Simple Steps
Building a website at Wealthy Affiliate has been simplified into 3 steps.
Step 1: Choose whether you want to build a FREE website on SiteRubix.com, or a PREMIUM website on your own domain. Enter the domain you want to use.
Step 2: Enter a name for your website
Step 3: Choose a Look for your website (A theme)
Step 4: Build your website!
Within seconds of installing your website you will be provided with all of the Admin details to start building.
Honestly, it's that simple to build a website at Wealthy Affiliate and it takes less than a minute!
Choosing the "Prefect" Theme
One of the most challenging aspects to building a website is choosing the "perfect" theme. Some folks spend days, or even weeks choosing the perfect theme. There is no such thing as the "Perfect" theme as there are 1000's of themes out there available to dress your website in.
To simplify this sometimes daunting choice, we have handpicked a number of great themes and placed them right at the very top of the theme list. These themes are current, simple, and put focus on your content. This list will be kept up to date and be frequently updated!
For starter members we have further simplified the process by removing 1000's of themes from the choice. Starter members will be able to install any of the themes that we have hand chosen on our "top themes" list only. These are more than adequate to get started.
Premium members have the full theme list to choose from!
We do not want anyone to get hung up on theme choice. We hope that this will simplify the process for everyone, in particular those that are in the beginning stages of their Internet business.
Protecting you from the unexpected!
Starter members will see that their websites are limited when it comes to installing themes and plugins from within the Wordpress back office. We've done this for your protection.
Many folks who are new to website building get concerned about expanding their website functionality prematurely, and in many cases install plugins and themes that can mess up their effort and hard work. At WA we want everyone to focus on building the foundation of their business, their content, and not get sidetracked by thousands of themes and plugins out there. There are some AWESOME plugins out there, but until you have more experience and the ability to get technical support with your website, plugin and theme installation should be off limits for Starter Members.
It will now be impossible for any Starter member to install something that will harm their website, or even worse, take their website offline completely. To extend the functionality of your website, simply go Premium and these limitations will be lifted instantly.
Premium members unlock the ability to extend their website functionality by installing themes and plugins from within their website Admin area. They have 24/7 technical support, more sophisticated website monitoring, backups, and protection against plugins and themes that can harm a website. Premium members can extend their website functionality by installing plugins and themes. They can be worry free because we will make sure websites run optimally.
All websites get a set of approved and required plugins pre-installed with their websites. These are plugins that we have also hand picked and that will allow you to get a quality Wordpress website in place with the “extra” functionality that you initially need.

This is great news, Carson, especially about the help you're providing with themes. It's a literal jungle and anything that streamlines that is greatly appreciated. Knowing the recommended ones will be at the top will really be useful. Will be coming up with a niche just to try this out and see how easy it is. There is a very large void in the Website building industry. No web hosts out there have any form of training, they offer sub standard hosting, little to no security and support.
We're going to change that!

I have my website. I have written my About Me, Getting Started and Privacy Policy and they are as Drafts right now. I do not know how to get the link I need to promote WA and put on my website. Thank you anyone.
Great work on getting your About me, Getting Started, and Privacy Policy on your site. Once you've got them ready, go ahead and publish them.
In Bootcamp Course #2 you will learn all about adding affiliate links to your website but at this point you are not yet ready. You want to get your website content ranking before you start adding affiliate links.
Keep working through the training, we do not leave out any steps :)
Now that the cat is out of the bag I can congratulate you on all of your hard work. Themes are a sticking point for new folks this should make their lives much easier.

Thanks for the feedback :) The more "decisions" we can remove from the website building process, the more sites will get created without any hangups.
Lots of stuff up our sleeve in regards to websites...it is after all, a website is the foundation of every online business out there!

Great job addressing some of the newbie issues and hangups when creating a website! The less choices they have, the better so they can focus on taking action on other things! I also like the further distinction of why you should become a premium member. Please be sure to update the starter vs premium graphics affiliates are using and that section on wa that discusses the differences.
Including the real domain name option is great! But do we still own the domain name if we leave WA or is it owned by WA? Domains usually cost x dollars, Is this charged to our payment method used to pay for WA?

When adding a website to a domain that you own, you need to first point the DNS of your domain to WA. You buy the domain separately from WA.
We are working to build the entire process of purchasing the domain into our website builder but at the time being you still need to get your domain elsewhere at a Domain registrar of your choice.
People always will own their content and their domains that they register.
The steps of buying a domain and pointing it to WA servers has not changed just yet.
In terms of the hangups that new folks face, I absolutely agree that it was a priority to simplify their experience. Too many people get sidetracked by plugins and fancy themes when the focus should be on getting the site up and running and continuing to follow the training at WA.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I got excited and thought you could purchase your domain through WA. Maybe we should make that clearer by saying something like "Your Domain You Own" or something to that effect so it's clear. Thanks for the screenshot! I love the starter wordpress dashboard! That should definitely help increase some conversions! Great job as always!
We are creating a video right now that goes along with the new website builder and we'll make sure to explain that folks need to register their domain. We may also build in some feature that will explain that folks need to setup their DNS if they add a domain and the DNS is not already setup.
Great suggestion for clarifying this!
There are quite a few improvements in how a website is built and we hope this will simplify the website building process for everyone!
