State of Origin
Tonight will be the first game of the annual State of Origin Series. It is the best-of-three
Australian Rugby League Football matches between two State representative sides, the N.S.W Blues (Cockroaches) and the Queensland Maroons (Canetoads)
It is referred to as Australian Sports greatest rivalry and the regions premier sporting events, attracting huge television audiences with sell out stadiums in which the games are played.
Despite the existence of International Tournaments with State of Origin being a domestic competition, it is frequently cited as being the highest-level of Rugby League played anywhere in the World.
Since it's inception in 1908 but continued since 1982 as the State of Origin, total victories for each side were once extra ordinarily even, however, between 2006 and 2013 Queensland Maroons won every series!
As I'm a Queenslander I guess you know who I will be backing! The Maroons are considered the under dogs this year.

I agree Rugby is brutal, I really only watch the State of Origin but feel sometimes the game now is more about injuring the good player to get him off the field.

Unfortunately not in Game 1, but there are 2 more to come. Qld has a lot of injured players at present. It can be quite a brutal game with good players being targetted :( Thank you for dropping by, Gina. have a great day :)
