If using a video for a post with nothing written, does this affect how google ranks the post? Does this change how you SEO the post?

Optimizing videos for search engines can help yes. It should be part of the overall SEO on a site. Including text is recommended.

Rank depends on content and overall SEO on the site. Video optimization is one rank factor. There are many others.

If you are asking about YouTube videos embedded on your website, these might help: ~Jude

Thank you so much. I've had enough learning for today...my brain is fried; I will follow those links tomorrow.
The videos I'm thinking of using are videos I create myself.
Again, thank you.

Okay, but keep in mind that you will need to host them on YouTube, Vimeo or other video hosting platform. It is not recommended to host them on your website - it slows the page load speed. ~Jude

Yes, understand. Thanks

Yes, you should always include text in your post.

Thank you. I suspected as much.

My pleasure Carl.

Do I receive notification of someone replying to a comment I made, say at the end of a training session?

Yes, you should have.

You should get an email when someone makes a comment on what you wrote if you have it set up in your email settings.

Yes, if you have the notification turned on and selected for what type of notifications you wish to receive.

In the left menu, bottom left: Account Settings, scroll to the bottom of that page. Notifications - Yes. Click Edit and select options. ~Jude

I had that all set up to receive notification email but I'm not receiving them.
Thank you for your help.

Have you checked that the email listed in the account settings is the same one that you are checking?

If so, have you looked in the spam folder and white-listed WA.

By the way, you can also click on the Globe icon in the top bar on the right and you will also see your notifications there. ~Jude

Ofcourse yes!

On the top of the page is a dropdown (next to the 'rank' box) that gives you the option to ask a question. I enter the topic as a question, using a question mark at the end,

Glad you are sorted. Keep asking questions.

Make sure you have added enough characters in the question - I had the same thing but my question was not long enough so it didn't like it.

Thank you. I will give that a try.
Maybe you know this answer: when you leave a comment or question, say at the end of a training session, are you notified if someone replys to your comment?

Yes you will get a notification in the white box showing the world icon. A number will appear and if you click it you will see any notifications.

Thank you very much. I'm just getting started and I am finding navigation to be a problem. I'm old....can't teach an old dog???
I'll get it.

Not old - experienced in life! You can always use the live chat which appears on the right hand side when you click on "Activity dashboard" too. But to be honest, I ask lots of questions which get answered by numerous people. You can also search in the top search bar and you'll find lots of other posts and trainings there too. Hope that helps. Have fun whatever you do! :)

You are too kind. I used your suggestion for the 'ask question' feature and it worked. I also noticed that the number to the right in the topic bar is the number of characters used (up to 20). I made sure to use all 20. After submitting the question I received an answer immediately.
Again, my thanks.

Glad it worked. And you're welcome!
