Good morning WA guys and gals, here is another Better everyday blog, day 6 for you all. This fine photo here found its way into my many photos out of curiosity. I drive past this thing all the time and was wondering why would someone erect rocks like that in the middle of nowhere so to speak. So I pulled over to check it on my way home the other day.

It is a monument to honor the Mormons who settled this area so many years ago. This is not to far from where Sammy Davis Jr back in 1959 fell asleep driving his Cadillac back from a show in Las Vegas and crashed, thus losing one of his eyes. He stayed in the hospital for a month they say in San Bernardino.

Here is a closer shot of the plaque, I find it very cool to visit such places, there is a back road out of Santa Barbara that has a memorial to a general back in the 1800s who saved the town from Spanish invasion or something to that nature. They were expecting an attack from the sea, and this guy took his army north of Santa Barbara and hiked them all in from the North through the mountains there. I find that stuff cool.

No shortage of rocks in this area to build that with, just go pick them up. I like the wagon wheel on top too.

I hope everyone enjoys this blog and finds the photos interesting of the area where I find myself living at this part of my journey on this spinning planet.

You all Rock.!!

Scott.

Scott there are so many hidden gems and monuments throughout the country like this, history is very intriguing--good or bad! Hopefully, there will still be many things like this to see unless the cancel culture continues to be allowed to run amok! Excellent images!

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend (Frisatsu)!

Jeff

Wow! Carli my grand dear friend

You did a grand great research.

So Awesome when you are able to satisfy your inner curiosity.

Congratulations!

I just stopped off there on my way home earlier this week. It is known the Mormans settled a lot of this area 150 years ago. One area that is super windy, they tried to make a resort there. That did not work out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scott.

Wow!

Such a special place.

It's my great pleasure to stop by my dear friend.

You're just as special as the Mormons who settled this area so many years ago.

Life is so Awesome.

SUCCESS to you my dear friend Scott.
