Hello everyone!

I just wanted to pop over here for a moment and let you all know, that as of yesterday, I have made it to 100 articles on my website! Where has the time gone!?!?

It's only been 7 months since I came back to WA and started this website, and already I have 100 articles!

If in 7 months I can make that kind of progress, I wonder what the next 7 months will bring, and the next 7 months after that, and so on.

I have written an article every day, or every 1-2 days for the past 7 months, and there were days that it was difficult. Or I was trying to juggle my regular schedule alongside my writing, but, it has been worth it.

There definitely were days when I thought, who is ever going to read one of my articles? Or I don't feel like writing another article today, waiting a few days won't hurt, I have no organic traffic currently anyways.

But, I had to stop looking at the small picture and look at the bigger one. That is one thing that has helped me tremendously. Sure, it's just one more article I'm writing, but, in 7 months, one article written per day, adds up to 100+ articles.

I guess I think of it similarly to how people look at fitness. I'm no fitness expert, nor am I into fitness, haha!

But, as someone who has struggled with their weight all my life, I can attest to the fact that when starting a new diet or fitness regime...

It's never going to work, if you go out and run 5 miles, and expect not to be completely exhausted, and need to recover for the next 2-4 days before you do it again.

And if you think that it's not going to be a difficult feat, to go from being a "couch potato," to being reasonably physically active, you're wrong.

The first few times you go for a walk, it's going to be painful, and uncomfortable, and you're going to be thinking "What the heck was I thinking!?"

But, getting inspired and signing up to do a marathon after you've only ever done 10 minutes of walking.

Or going for one walk and being exhausted and then not going for a walk for another two weeks, or a month, or 6 months, isn't the right approach either.

Writing is the same way, and many things are. You can't start with the mentality that you're going to do great things with your writing and then not stay consistent or not keep yourself accountable to stay consistent on a daily basis.

But, you also can't start with the mentality that you're going to go crazy, write 20 articles in a single day, and completely stress yourself out over it all either.

It takes time! And it also takes time to realize that you need to not only keep yourself accountable and inspired, but, you also need to give yourself credit for the little bit you do each day. And be grateful that you do that.

Even if you aren't seeing results, and that is bumming you out, you still need to stay positive and think, one day there will be results. That's something that's really difficult to do some days, and I understand that 100%.

Even on the days when you think, this isn't worth writing another article, you need to pull yourself out of those dark and dreary thoughts of self-doubt, and write a darn article anyway.

And there have been days, where I have burnt the candle at both ends, I've pushed myself, stayed awake until all hours of the night finishing an article, only to be so tired the next day for my day job or writing another article that I decide not to write my next article.

Learning when it is a good time for you to push yourself or when is a good day to just do nothing, and let yourself rest, is also really important. I've learned this the hard way, at least 3 times now. Not only in writing but, in life in general.

Exhibit A: A few years ago, I was working 2 jobs, running everywhere to get to my next job, trying to keep everyone in my life happy, trying to find even just 30 seconds for myself in a single day to rest and relax.

And, I was only able to do this for about a month, before I was actually hospitalized, due to a number of factors (dehydration, high anxiety and stress levels, etc).

Sure, I was making tons of progress, I was keeping super busy, I was working extra hours, I was making lots of money, but, I was absolutely miserable.

Nowadays, I keep a fairly relaxed schedule, to prevent that from happening again. Because I know myself, I am a workaholic.

I throw myself into my work, wholeheartedly, and I will work myself to death if that's what it takes.

Even in writing, I had to learn that things will get done, but, I can take my time to do them. Everything doesn't have to get done all in one day.

These days, I work 3 hours at my regular 9-5, 6 days a week. And in my downtime, at home or work (I own my own physical retail business), I write. Which is what I enjoy doing most.

And this is a far nicer schedule than the rat race I once used to participate in! But it takes TIME to get to the point where you can still keep yourself inspired, consistently accountable, and be able to be okay with knowing Rome was not built in one single day.

It's okay if some days you wake up, and write 5 articles, it's also okay if you wake up some days and feel like today you can only write one article because you just don't have the energy to write more than that today.

Finishing reading ONE chapter in a book per week, will become FOUR chapters by the end of the month.

Setting aside $1 a day in your savings account for a rainy day will become $30 at the end of the month... In 6 months, you'll have $90, in 12 months you'll have $360.

So don't ever forget if you're working on an article, and you only get to finish writing half of it in a day, but, you wake up tomorrow and you finish and publish it... You're one step closer to another article.

And 1 article, becomes 2, then 3, in a month, it could be 30, in 7 months it could be 100, or more. Baby steps with progress are totally okay! It takes TIME!

You can do it! I believe in you! Keep writing! Even if you only write 500 words in a day, continue writing!

I officially have 100 articles on my website, and I am proud of my progress.

A few other notable things I've done are: I have 136 comments on my site, I have 100% on all my site health "vitals", and I've recently started using ChatGPT4 to help me write better articles.

Onward, and upward from here, I can't wait to see what the next year of progress holds! <3

And none of this would have been possible of course, without the constant support from all of you here in WA! Thank you for your continuous love and support. <3

You can do this! You got this! But, the only thing that matters most is that you first believe in YOURSELF!

That's the biggest step you can take! And it's difficult, I know! Making progress, one baby step at a time, each and every day, is better than no progress at all. Keep going! I see you!

Congrats Cal 👍

Hi Cal, a very inspiring post and a huge congrats on achieving the 100 article milestone on your website. Also it's awesome that you've kept your website Google Search Console vitals very high too. Google is going to reward you with good indexing, traffic, and ultimately revenue from your hard work. You've built a solid foundation and you seem to be very motivated to keep pushing forward.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the community and platform here at WA, we have a lot of great tools coming that are going to help you immensely in the coming year!

Thanks for the post!

Carson

Hey Carson! Thank you for your kind words! Correction: All my site health vitals are at 100%, aside from site trust (it's currently at 50%) ...

(because my site has only been in existence for 7 months), which will increase as I get more comments on my site, etc. And plugins are at 50% as well, but, every other aspect is at 100%. :)

I am definitely motivated to continue pushing forward!

I love WA! Especially the supportive community! I look forward to using these upcoming tools that are going to be super helpful in the coming year!

Very well done, Cal! Keep succeeding!

Jeff
