Hello everyone!

I haven't blogged in WA in a bit, so I thought I would hop on over here and share some of my most recent updates with all of you.

  • I currently have 121 posts/ articles on my website
  • I currently have 262 comments on my website
  • All website "vitals" are at 100%, aside from one (Site Trust) but, it's climbing slowly, but surely.
  • Currently at 70% Site Trust, which went up a few weeks ago from 60-70%.
  • I have 36 articles indexed by Google.
  • I have been recently working on answering questions in forums, mainly focusing on Quora at the moment. I currently have 29 answers to questions on Quora.
  • I made the switch from one daily post per social media platform, to now 5x daily posts per social media platform.
  • I've watched more of Jay's wonderfully educational and informational videos lately to level up my learning.

It's been a crazy busy few weeks and continues to be, so I haven't been able to have as much time as I would like to, for writing.

My life partner has been dealing with some pretty serious health issues lately, so I have mostly been busy taking him to doctor appointments and ensuring that he is taking care of his health conditions properly.

And, I'm only able to write in my spare time at my regular "9-5" job, with the Christmas season getting underway, and my business being a physical retail store, my shop has been a bit busier lately.

It's often hard to find a balance between social media posts, answering questions on forums, finding time to write, whilst working, and having a busier-than-normal schedule, but, I am doing all that I can to make sure I am progressing with my website.

The goal lately has been to start driving organic traffic to my website. And I'm hoping in a few weeks I will be able to start adding my own content links into my answers to questions on Quora, and that may help.

My other goal is once I start to get some organic traffic, I'll be able to ascertain who my audience really is on my website.

This will help me determine what kind of ads, articles, etc I should use or write on my website to gain more organic traffic going forward.

I am slowly but surely making progress, onward and upward from here, hopefully! :)

Having the support of such a wonderful network of like-minded folks in WA has been really crucial to keeping my spirits boosted and kept me putting one foot in front of the other every day, even on days when I feel like I can't.

None of this would be possible without all of your support, so thank you for providing such a positive space for growth and for supporting one another and me throughout this journey.

I hope everyone has an amazingly productive and wonderful day!

More updates coming soon!

Hey Cal, looks like your affiliate business is sprouting wings. Keep up what ever you can do and I am sure it will be soaring soon! Thanks for sharing

Thank you mhorwitz613! :) Hopefully, it will be, haha!

Congratulations, Cal! You are making some significant progress. Thank you for sharing.
I am sorry to hear about your partner's illness.
Regards, Matt

Thank you, Matt! :) I'm always trying to make progress, no matter how gradual, it's still progress haha!

We are doing what we can in terms of my partner's health. I'm really proud of him, he's done extremely well with such challenging health issues as he has been dealing with.

Thank you!
All the best,

, Cal

Thank you for sharing, and have a good Tuesday.

Larry

:) You're welcome, and thank you, have a good Tuesday to you as well Laurence! :)

Given you have so much going on, Cal I think you should be patting yourself on the back. What for, persistence in the face of adversity. I am sorry to hear about the health issues with your partner, that is definitely a worry you can do without.

Thank you Catherine for your kind words. I have definitely found myself being quite a busy bee the past few weeks, haha!

My partner's health issues have been quite tough to navigate and manage for both of us.

Especially because it's quite difficult seeing him very frustrated with the restrictions of his diet and health.

He has been a T2D (Type 2 Diabetic) for 15+ years now, and only just in the past year or so, he was diagnosed with kidney disease, and earlier this year, diagnosed with mid-stage CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease and diabetic retinopathy.

His doctor put him on an extremely restrictive diet, and both of us have been taking work off to attend his many doctor appointments, and then working overtime in our spare time to make up for the time absent from work.

However, I did decide to take the challenge and research to learn about his new diet, whilst doing an article on the topic, because I figure if we're struggling with the topic, I'm sure many others might be as well.

That has been very beneficial, and helped a lot! With my knowledge of cooking/ food, I knew it wasn't impossible but, the combination of CKD+ T2D was going to be even more difficult in terms of meal planning, but, we've managed so far, haha!

Like anything, a bit of a learning curve, but, I think we have it down pat now.

Life doesn't come without its challenges, nor does business, but, I've never said no to a challenge, haha!

Thank you for your kind words, Catherine! I'm going to keep keeping on, for sure!

Hi Cal, thanks for the updates. Amazingly, you have accomplished a lot in your progress. You are caring for your partner, the store, and social media.

Sounds like you’re getting more eyes on your post while waiting for slow turtle 🐢 Google to index your pages. I have the same issue.

You’ve done a great job of staying focused. I started doing Pinterest because it's a search engine. I'm getting more eyes on my post than any other platforms.

Pinterest is giving more impressions so I am sticking to it. Yes, you are right. It's hard to find the time to do it all. That is why I am using the Pinterest scheduled platform. Pinterest has everything you can set and forget plan your pins and pin videos in bulk then it goes on schedule for a whole month. I use Canva Pro for it.

Quora is a great site, too, but it's not a set-it-and-forget-it you have to be there.

I find my traffic to my blogs are better from Pinterest so far. LinkedIn and Medium not yet, it's hard to find time for that too.

Keep going, Cal. I agree with your statement that WA community is awesome support system.

Hey Brenda! You're welcome for the updates!
I am finding the same so far with Pinterest!

I am getting a lot of impressions, and that has been really awesome.
Not so many clicks, but, that will come in time I'm sure.

I am definitely finding Pinterest and Canva to be very easy, and set and forget. My trouble is I don't have the time to do 2 weeks or a month at a time of posts.

But, I am scheduling out for up to 1 week, and every Saturday, I have a 6-hour window of a full day at work when it's usually not super busy.

And I can get most of my posts done for a week. And that has been working well so far.

I am enjoying Quora but, you're right, it's certainly a site where you have to be present, so I'm doing what I can, every few days I answer a couple of questions.

I have LinkedIn but I have yet to use it for posts. I will be starting to do that though.

Definitely important to keep going! And I intend to do so! :)

Same here. We all are here to support each other through these journeys. The important part is to focus on what you can do even with the available time. If that's what works for you, then stick to it. I do get it. I'm retired, so I do have time to do it all in bulk to get it over with for one month. That makes it easier for me to focus on other essential priorities.

Absolutely, whatever works for you, works! Everyone does it differently and on their own schedule. I wish I could do it in bulk haha!

It would make it a lot easier! But, you're right, doing the best you can with the time you have, is also always beneficial.

On days when I feel I only have a little bit of time, or I just simply need a break, I'll do very little.

But, I'll watch some training videos instead to continue my learning so that at least I feel I'm doing something other than nothing.

It's definitely a journey! :)

Cool that's awesome! 👍

We can only do so much, Cal! Given everything going on, you seem to be doing pretty good!

Jeff

Thank-You for your kind words Jeff! :)

You're very welcome, Cal! Keep succeeding!

Jeff
