Keyword Confusion
I'm in need of a bit of help. I have no doubts this was covered in the trainings but I must be missing it.
I'm being told to use only one keyword per article and I just want to make sure that's correct. I know it should be be in certain places and mentioned x amount of times but just ONE keyword, not like 5 or 6?
It seems silly to ask but I can't find the specifics on the number of keywords to use per article. Your help and comments are appreciated.

Hi, Tim! Using the proper amount of keywords is--well--KEY! Too many will penalize you and too little will low rank you. As I said before, Yoast will guide you to the proper everything--where to place the keyword in your title, in the body, etc. You've got this!
Hi Tim
My understanding is one in the title ( try to get the keyword at the beginning of the title) and one in the first sentence or 140 characters and 3% of the overall word count So 1000 words 3 in total. Do not attempt keyword stuffing you will pay a penalty from Google.
Also, remember you will generate keywords as you write naturally.

Not sure whether this would be helpful, but sometimes it is just the different way that somebody says it, that makes something click. So here goes.
When it says "use only one keyword" - it refers to the "keyword string" , as Dave "lizlipz" has illustrated in his example, which can contain several words, which form the "keyword string".
But when you just write naturally about your topic, other keywords will automatically be in there too, even though you may or may not have deliberately planned to have them in there.
But your main keyword (keyword string), the one which you want to rank for, is the one that should be used in the title, first paragraph, etc
Hope it helps somewhat! :-)

Thank you that does help me see it differently and has sparked an idea that I hope is correct, lol. I really appreciate the help!
I usually put about 4 keywords in my articles. I type into Jaaxy and get the words with the Searches over 30 and QSR (competition) under 100.
Example: Helite Motorcycle Airbag Jacket Review
The would be the heading and then I would include those keywords in the first or second paragraph.
This is how Kyle taught me in the Certification Training.
Have a great day. Dave
No worries and if you ever get stuck finding keywords in your niche, don't forget to look in magazines off-line. Even type in your niche and magazine.

My understanding is that you use the "long tailed keyword", as they call the group of words that make up your keyword phrase...example: The Best Ballroom Dance Shoes is the keyword phrase of one of the posts on my website. I put that at the beginning of the title, then put something to attract their attention at the end....ie The Best Ballroom Dance Shoes (my keyword) --What to Look For.
Then I used the same phrase in the subheading, and once in the first or second line of the first paragraph.
After that, you just write normally. Don't try to stuff keywords into your post, or Google will penalize you. Just let your words flow as if you were talking to someone.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, it does. In fact, with each perspective, I get a better understanding on the bigger picture. I do feel that I am doing it right now but I feel i'm still missing something so I've decided to start over from the beginning with the training to see what I missed. Thanks for your help!
